Spring 2010 School @ Laguna Seca

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

About this event

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Driving School

Join the BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter on May 26, 2010, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA! Laguna Seca is one of America's most exciting and challenging race tracks, making it a great place to learn the art of high performance driving from the dedicated team of experienced GGC instructors. You'll go home with skills you can use on the roads every day as well as some great memories of laps at this famous racetrack.

The weather should be spectacular for this event!

If you are an experienced (A or B group) driver, you will be excited to hear about our expanded passing options for these run groups!  You will be able to pass almost anywhere with a point-by!

NEW!  We are happy to announce that we have integrated the latest technology for on-track data acquisition into our curriculum for A (advanced) group students.  Our experienced classroom instructors will be able to demonstrate exactly how optimal lines increase speeds, where the biggest areas for improvement lie, and how various errors can have a compound effect on driving.

Event requirements

School requirements:

Your car must be registered, you must be a licensed driver, 18 years of age or older and you must be a BMW CCA member to be eligible for enrollment (non-member fee includes a non-refundable one-year BMW CCA membership).

Note: Attendance at a GGC Car Control Clinic is stronly recommended and is typically a prerequisite for first-timers planning to attend any of our driving schools who do not have previous high-performance driving experience (if in doubt, email to ask).

Snell SA2000 and M2000 or newer helmets are required.

If you would like to share a car with another student, please contact the Registrar by clicking the Host Details to the right before registering.

Convertibles and T-top cars must have 5-point/6-point belts and arm restraints, as well as an approved roll bar installed.  Factory "rollover protection" for a soft top (i.e. BMW Z3 and Z4, Porsche Boxster) is not sufficient for the school.  Convertibles with hard tops, including folding hard tops, are NOT ALLOWED.  Examples of cars NOT ALLOWED include: Firebirds and Camaros with T-tops or convertibles; any Corvette other than the Z06 coupe;  Porsche convertibles and Targas.  The Lotus Elise, while a targa-style car, IS ALLOWED due to its structural design provided that the hard roof panel is in place (the soft roof panel is not sufficient).  It is essential that you email Mark Dadgar to discuss these issues well in advance if you plan to bring a convertible or T-top car.  We will not give refunds if you sign up with an ineligible car.

Cancellation policy: Any cancellations on or before 5/12/10 pay $50.00 (or $98 for non-members, who will receive a 1-year BMW CCA membership).  Cancellations on or after 5/12/10 will not receive a refund or credit for any reason.

Please make sure to include and update your experience and your emergency contact info in your account when you register online.
