Women's Motorsport Day - July 14th

Marina Airport

About this event

Before registering, please read the entire Car Control Clinic Overview for important information and required forms for the day of the event. Please also see the FAQs.

This is the BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter’s second Motorsport Day for women only!

If you are new to motorsports or want an opportunity to develop your car control skills with other like-minded women, this is your chance!

This is an all-day combined car control clinic and autocross fun run. This event combines class lecture time with lots of driving time. We will start the day learning and practicing various driving skills, and finish the day running an autocross course that builds on those skills.

The Motorsport Day is intended for drivers interested in improved street safety, improved car control skills for autocross, or for drivers who want an extra level of preparation before attending a High Performance Driving School at a track.

Each participant drives her own car and receives personalized instruction provided by experienced club and motorsport instructors.

The July 14, 2019 Women’s Motorsport Day will be held at Marina Airport, in Marina, CA, just north of Monterey.

Check-in for registered students opens at 8:00 AM. The event concludes at 5:30 PM.

The cost is $140 for BMW Car Club of America (CCA) members, $188 for non-club members. Non-member registration includes one year membership in the BMW CCA. Lunch is included.

Instructors and staff, please use the worker registration page: msreg.com/WomensMotorsportDay2019workers

If you have further questions please contact us at carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org.

Event requirements

Registration and payment must be made in advance by filling out and submitting an on-line application. The roster will be filled on a first come, first served basis. We adjust the student count based on the number of instructors in order to keep a good ratio. Many times we have late signups by additional instructors, so sign up for the wait list!

Each driver must register separately in her own name and have their own Motorsportreg.com account. Only on-line credit card payment or electronic check will be accepted. You may not register at the event. We will be using the e-mail address in your Motorsportreg.com profile to contact you about any issues with your registration and to send you further information about the event, so please make sure that this address is a good way to contact you.

Because you must be a member of the BMW Car Club of America to participate, with the non-member registration option, you purchase a BMW CCA membership with your registration. Alternatively, you may contact the national office at 1-800-878-9292 to become a member.

If you live in a household with an active club member, you may call the national office of the BMW CCA to become an associate member for $10. If you go that route, provide your associate membership number with your registration.

Unlike our other Car Control Clinic events, helmets are required for this clinic. Your helmet must meet the BMW CCA’s helmet standards (Snell SA or M, 2010 or later) and must be inspected at check-in. We will have helmets available at the event for loan (no charge) but do bring your own if you have one.

Your car will have to pass a technical inspection at the event. The tech inspection form will be sent to registered students ahead of time (as part of the Student Packet) to allow you to check your car ahead of time. The most common issues are tire condition and battery hold downs.

We do not allow most SUVs at the clinic due to their high center of gravity. Some SUVs are allowed. If you wish to bring an SUV, contact us to find out if it is allowed. Convertibles are allowed at the clinic. If there is a question about the appropriateness of your vehicle, please contact us at carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org.

Please read the entire Car Control Clinic Overview for important information and required forms for the day of the event. Please also see the FAQs. This event is based on the Car Control Clinics but with an introduction to Autocross too; also see the Autocross Overview for more information on autocrossing. (You will not need to register or classify your car for this event.)

Each participant must have her own motorsportreg.com account and must register under her own name.

If the event is full, please register anyway.
You will be placed on a waiting list. We often have late cancelations, and fill empty seats from this list in order of registration. Also, if instructor registration reaches a certain threshold, we will accept more students into the clinic. We will contact you to make sure you are still interested before taking payment. In addition, by registering for the waiting list, you will get an email notification when registration opens for the next event.

Please contact us carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org if you need additional information.
