Wine Country Tour

Kramer Vineyards

About this event

2018 Wine Country Tour

We’re set for another fun and tasty tour through the North Willamette Valley’s Wine Country! Pilot your Bimmer along sweeping roads through beautiful hills and farmlands to the picturesque vineyards we’ve chosen for this year’s tour. We’ll stop at three vineyards, and finish our tour with a delicious bar-b-que lunch.

This year we will start at Kramer Vineyards near Gaston, Oregon. Established in 1983, the Kramer Family offers a broad selection of delicious red, white, rose, and sparkling wines. Sparkling wines are rarely produced in Oregon. Theirs are so good, we’ve made special arrangements for an exclusive tasting for our event!

Buck Bailey Design will sponsor a quiche “brunchette” with fruit. Of course you may taste any of their non-sparkling wines, and coffee will be available too.

Departing Kramer, we will wind through the lovely Chehalem Valley past verdant farms. We’ll give our cars a little cardio workout up the twisty Woodland Loop, then continue with some fun sweepers back down into the Valley.

Our second vineyard will be at Lemelson Vineyards near Carlton. Their Pinot Gris and Chardonnay white wines are highly awarded by Wine Advocate: “…one of the best you will find in Oregon…”. Their celebrated Pinot Noirs are also highly awarded, and are produced from the fruits of seven estate vineyards three AVA’s: “a series of complex and elegant wines that speak clearly of their Oregon origins.”

Tastings include 5 wines, meat / cheese / fruit, and a take-home GoVino shatterproof wine glass. See them at http://govinowine.com/

Departing Lemelson, we will head south through more beautiful scenery along big sweepers and long fast straights past Lafayette, following a course more or less parallel to the Willamette River.

Our third and last vineyard is Zenith Vineyard nw of Salem. This stunning estate features award-winning wines. Varietals include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Tempranillo, and Pinot Blanc. In addition to producing wonderful wines, Zenith is dedicated to an intricate sustainability and organic growing program.

We will be treated to a delicious Bar-B-Que Picnic in the Winery. We will dine on the mezzanine overlooking the production room, and enjoy the lovely views on the patio.

Of course no Wine Country Tour would be complete without our Group Photo Op (“Op” used to mean “Opportunity”, but with staging our big group of cars it’s an “Operation”). Zenith’s beautiful buildings and grounds will make for a great backdrop.
