Sept 30 - Oct 1 (Wed/Thur) mid week driving tour through Santa Monica mtns and Angeles National Forest to Wrightwood

Wed (9/30) - 9:30am Temecula meetup behind Arco gas station (corner of Rancho Calif & Ynez) in front of Chili's resturant. Plan to depart by 9:45am.

- head out via 210W & 101W to Topanga Canyon Rd (hwy 27) exit south for noon lunch at Ameci Pizza & Pasta (110 miles)

- after lunch Molholland Dr to Santa Monica mountains & canyons. Occassional (optional) more technical sections (approx 50 miles)

- continue on hwy 1 to Point Mugu to Channel Island harbor (possible visit of US Navy Seabee Museum in Port Huenene) - lodging at Hampton Inn on the marina, happy hour and brekfast provided.

- various dinner options less than 1 mile walking distance along the marina.

Thur (10/1) - hotel check out at 10:00am

- hwy 126E to Santa Clarita to Soledad Cyn through Angeles Forest to Big Pine hwy - lunch at Wrightwood (approx 120 miles)

- after lunch head back via 15S and 215S (approx 80 miles)

Cost - $225 (single or couple) for one night accommodation at Hampton Inn Channel Island harbor with breakfast. All other expenses, meals and refreshments are self pay.
