About the Ribas Legacy Fund:
The Ribas legacy fund was created by our friend, Gene Ribas.
Gene’s vision for this fund was to be able to give up & coming autocrossers within the community a chance to advance within the sport and enjoy it as much as possible (at least, as much as Gene did!) by lessening the financial burden that comes with any sort of motorsport. Gene entrusted Triad Sports Car Club, with along with his daughter, Tara, His wife Joyce and his extended family to be the stewards of this fund.
Each year, Officers of Triad Sports Car Club along with the Ribas family will consider nominees for the fund (chosen by TSCC officers & members) and award the recipient at the Triad Sports Car Club awards banquet.
Funding has been provided by the Ribas Family, Triad Sports Car Club & Donations from friends, family and members of the autocross community.
If you want to donate, you can send a check made out to Triad Sports Car Club, with a the “Ribas Legacy Fund” on the note.

Event requirements
- If you are feeling sick, are showing multiple symptoms of COVID-19, or have been exposed to COVID-19, DO NOT ATTEND.
- Check in will take place at the timing trailer
- There will be loaner helmets available if needed, but we prefer you bring your own Snell 2010 & Newer Helmets.
- Novice Class will be continuing this year. There will be In-Car Instruction based on your comfort level with people in your car and the instructors comfort leve being in the car with you.
- At anytime, a Triad Officer may verify the Tech-Worthiness of your vehicle.
Some items to consider before coming to Tech Inspection are:
- Clean out any loose items in the car (including the trunk): things like cell phones cables, garage door openers, loose change and such.
- The battery has to be properly secured.
- If your floor mats are not physically attached to carpet, they will have to be removed. We don’t want the floor mat to bunch up under the brake or gas.
- Hubcaps and center caps on wheels should be removed. If your hubcaps mount to the wheel and are held in place by the lug nuts, then they can stay on, otherwise they should be removed.
- Have a SNELL approved helmet, 2000 or newer (M-rated or SA-rated). Don't worry, if you don't have one we have loaners available.
It is your responsibility to:
- Check basic fluids such as oil, coolant, and brake.
- Make sure you torque the lug nuts to manufacturer's recommended tightness.
- Make sure you have no active leaks on the motor, transmission or diff. Oil on the track is a bad thing.
- Check tire pressure. If you don’t know what to set it to, a good starting point is typically 40 psi.
- You WILL experience greater than normal tire wear. Your tires MUST be serviceable, meaning they have appropriate tread, no chords showing, etc.
