Tioga Pass – Mammoth Lakes

Friday July 12 thru Sunday July 14

 

What an awesome opportunity to play with other Regions in our State!

We have been invited by the Central Coast Region (Mammoth Lake) to join them in their 4^th Annual

“Mammoth Lakes Alpine Road Tour” which will be joined by other regions such as

 Las Vegas, Southern CA and Fresno… so let’s join in the fun Diablo members!

 

This is a Three-day tour and is Pay-As-You-Go

We still need your registration for headcounts at restaurants and parking

 

·         ·         Friday July 12 = Depart from Mimi’s early a.m. and drive thru the scenic Tioga Pass where we will enjoy a picnic lunch perhaps Fresno Region will join in at this point.    Afterwards, we will continue to Mammoth Lakes for an early check-in at “The Juniper Springs Resort” where we have a special rate of $119/nite for a 1-bd condo with underground parking (must mention PCA for discount rate).    We will stay here for two nights. Phone: 800-626-6684 or  http://www.mammothmountain.com   At 7 pm, there will be a meet and greet at The Westin Monarch White Bark Bar where we can also enjoy dinner . 

 

·         Saturday July 13 =  Breakfast at “The Base Café” and will continue on a 110 mile drive through scenic backroads with  a variety of straits, twists, turns and rolling hills passing thru the city of June Lake a real alpine setting.  We will return to Mammoth for lunch at The Rafters.   Afterwards we will continue thru The Lakes Basin.  After a short break to wash your car or relax, we will meet at 5 pm for dinner at Gomez’s Mexican at The Village in Mammoth for alfresco dining – we are invited to display our cars in the Plaza normally reserved for pedestrians.

 

·         Sunday July 14 = Breakfast at The Westin (reserved parking) followed by a drive to Mammoth Mountain Vista Point and a gondola ride to the top of the mountain at 11,045 ft. 

 

People are welcome to stay longer as some regions will stay for golfing on Sunday afternoon and Monday a.m.

Otherwise, Lillie will continue back home thru another scenic route.  We will stop in Lee Vining at the famous Whoa Nelli Deli for lunch and return home via CA-108.
