Please join us for the Thompson Pass/Falls Driving Tour on Saturday, September 19, 2020. We will meet at The Snake Pit, 1480 Coeur d'Alene River Rd, Kingston, Idaho, 83839 for an ontime tour departure at 10 AM. To get there, take I-90 to Idaho exit 43. Take exit 43 and turn left onto Coeur d'Alene River Road. The Snake Pit is about a mile down Coeur d'Alene River Road on the right. It will take about 1 hour and 5 minutes (with no stops) on I-90 from Spokane, Washington to arrive at the meeting point. Please allow enough time to arrive at the meeting point. There is no prearranged route or tour to arrive at the meeting point. Please note that the Snake Pit is closed at our meeting time so there are no services or restrooms available. The next outhouse is on the top of the pass.
The drive will be on secondary roads heading up the mountain toward Thompson Pass at the Idaho/Montana border. Once at the pass the official drive will end and offer several options to participants. Those are: go for a hike at the top of the pass, turn around and head back home the way we came or, follow the tour leader down the "spirited" back side of the pass into Thompson Falls, Montana. As of this notice, the city of Thompson Falls is open for business but plan accordingly in case that situation changes.
If you would like to have a morning snack before you arrive at the Snake Pit, the tour leader will be at the Rose Lake Restaurant, 11233 State Hwy 3, Cataldo, ID 83810. The Rose Lake Restaurant is just off Idaho exit 34 on the right.
There are no scheduled formal activities either before or after the drive.
This is a free event. Register and sign waivers on Motorsportreg.com. Come with a full tank of gas, water and any other provisions you might need for the tour.
