The schedule for the Sonoma Major and Regional on June 29-July 1 has been slightly updated on June 13 to add some clarifications.

Major Supplementary Regulations

For all race groups: Starting positions for the Saturday Sprint race will be determined by the fastest time recorded for each car during the qualifying sessions.

For all race groups: Starting positions for the Sunday Feature race will be determined by the fastest time recorded during the qualifying sessions and the Saturday Sprint race.

PARTICIPATION AND POINTS:  Drivers can earn both Major and Regional points; the same points system (25, 21, 18, etc.) is used for both.

  • If the class is a Majors class, they can earn Major points/participation and Regional points if they are a SF Region drivers
  • If the class is a Regional only class, SF Region drivers earn Regional points.
  • The Regional portion of the event is not a Regional Qualifying event and therefore is not part of the “divisional path” to the Runoffs.

Major Run Groups 1-8 require a Full Competition or Pro License.  Novice permits will not be accepted.

Group 9 is regional only and Novice permits will be accepted. 

Paddock for the weekend will open Thursday, June 28 at 6:30 a.m. for the Sonoma Test Day.

Online entry closes Tuesday June 26 at 12 noon; after that you will need to enter at the track and pay the $50 post entry fee.

Sonoma Raceway will conduct a test day on Thursday, June 28 for a separate fee. Contact testing@sonomaraceway.com for pre-registration. Testing Information from Sonoma

We will use the same track as the Runoffs.

Enter now, pay later! SFR will charge your credit card AFTER the race weekend. Yes, we are taking advantage of the improved Deferred Payment Option offered by MotorsportReg. When you register, you enter your credit card information; after the race weekend, we actually process the card. 

To withdraw without penalty, notify the Region Office by Wednesday, June 27; $50 withdraw fee afterwards.

Your group, class, and car number will be listed on the Entry List on MotorsportReg. The list is always current (find it by going to the Announcement page on http://sfrscca.motorsportreg.com/ and clicking on “Current Registration List” in the upper right.

Car numbers will not be official until Friday afternoon, June 22.

One Regional     $410

Dual (extra class, same driver, all or part of weekend)  Regional: $199  /  Major $300

Group 8            FC, FB, P1, P2, S2, DSR, ASR

Group 9            ITA/B/C/R/S/X, E30, E46, SSC5, N3/L, SM5

Event requirements

To enter any SFR road racing event, you must have a valid competition license. To enter for Major participation, you must have a Full Competition license.

In addition to SCCA licenses, the organizations whose licenses are currently approved by SCCA for competition in Regional events are as follows: BMW CCA Club Racing Full Competition; FIA Issued by any sanctioning body; Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) HSR License; ICSCC; IMSA; NASA Full Competition; Porsche Club of America Full Competition; SCCA Pro Racing; SVRA; VARA; VMC.

All vehicles must meet the safety requirements detailed in the current SCCA General Competition Regulations. Transponder numbers are required for ALL CARS. If you do not have a transponder listed in your vehicle profile, you MUST rent one.
