About this event
The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the third Winter RallyCross of the season on Saturday, February 13, 2010. The Slide of the ValkyriesRallyCross will be held at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer. The RallyCross Team has layed out an approximately half-mile course and will be utilizing the “RED LOT” parking area.
Cars will have been gridded departing tech, and we will have the first car on course prior to 11AM. There will be at least two runs per group, with a 30-minute break (the RallyCross Team will be resetting the course) and then resume with the final runs of the day. There will be a minimum of 4 runs, with your highest time dropped from your final score.
Event requirements
REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
All competitors are encouraged to pre-register at the official online registration site for 2010 Rally events: www.motorsportreg.com. This will aid our planning prior to the event AND you can save money!
Entry fees without the early registration discount will be $50 for SCCA Members and $65 for SCCA Weekend Members. The Weekend Membership fee makes you an SCCA Weekend Member (required for participation), will give you a $15 discount towards a full SCCA membership, a copy of SportsCar (our national magazine), a DVD about SCCA, and is valid for the RallyCross activities on Saturday.
Here is the run down on entry fees:
- Onsite day-of registration - $50 and $65
- Online Pre-Register and Payment before 02/07- $40 and $55 *Your entry fee must be paid online (or mailed to SCCA, PO Box 220108, Anchorage, AK 99522 with a postmark not later than February 7, 2010)!*
- Pre-Register online through 02/11 and Pay at Event – $50/$65
NOTE - This event will be cancelled without 10-cars pre-registered (and paid) BY 02/07, --DO NOT delay in registering or the event may be cancelled!!
DRIVERS LICENSES and HELMETS
Competitors must present a valid driver’s license and sign the Event Waiver. If under 18-years-of-age, competitors must have a Minor Waiver signed by their parents and presented prior to competition. Contact the Region at 243-2122 to obtain a form.
Helmets: Competitors must have helmets, and they must meet minimum Snell SA-95, K95, or M-95 ratings or newer. The Region will have limited sizes and quantities of “loaner helmets” at the event; there is a $10 charge for use during the event.
CLASSES, CAR PREPARATION AND MODIFICATIONS
The Region has established four classes for our Winter Rallycross season: Stock-2W (S2W), Modified-2W (M2W), Stock-AWD (SAW) and Modified-AWD (MAW). Tires allowed are all-season, summer, or snow tires with or without street studs (we follow State allowed dates for studs). Use of “enhanced” tires” i.e. performance rally tires, tires with more studs than highway legal, extreme mud/snow tires with large paddles, lugs, etc., will NOT be allowed.
Each competitor will be required to present their vehicle ready for inspection to the Tech Inspection Team after registration. Vehicles shall have mufflers, working seatbelts, and NO leaking fluids, in addition to the other items on the Tech Sheet.
Vehicles with a high-center of gravity (lifted trucks) or vehicles emitting excessive noise will not be allowed to compete. This decision will be at the discretion of the Event Chairman and Tech Inspector.
