Shelton Vineyards (www.sheltonvineyards.com) is situated on the edge of North Carolina's foothills, just off Interstate 77 in Dobson. Shelton is the largest family owned estate winery in North Carolina, and on Saturday August 22 it is venue for the annual Mercedes-Benz car show for Triangle, Tarheel and Carolinas Sections. The pristine landscape, with amply shaded lawns and old world charm provides the perfect setting for the vintage-to-new Mercedes-Benzes that will be on display. Last year there were 70+ magnificent Mercedes on display, and more are expected this year. There will be a judged Street Class Concours for those interested in participating, but it's not required for you to enter the Concours if that's not your thing - Just bring your Mercedes, park it among the group, break out the folding chairs, sit back, relax and enjoy the day.
On Friday evening, August 21 there is a group dinner at The Depot at Cody Creek - A charming rustic restaurant with a covered bridge approach. Shelton-owned Harvest Grill located adjacent to the winery will also be open, and Chef Paul will feature a special lunch menu on the Winery Patio in honor of Mercedes - Reservations suggested, it's always a sell out.
