Best Friends Sanctuary Tour
Please join us on Sunday, April 27th for a scenic 75 mile drive to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, followed by a 1.5-2.0 hour VIP private tour through their 6,000-acre animal sanctuary. This will include 2-3 animal interactions, beautiful views of Angel Canyon, and learning about the lifesaving work that Best Friends is doing to save homeless pets across the country.
Drivers meeting will be at Black Bear Diner (965 Hoodoo Way, Washington, UT 84780) at 8:00 with departure at 8:30. Pre-trip gas, restrooms and food items are available at the adjacent Maverick’s. There is a $15 per vehicle charge for joining this tour.
With a stop in Colorado City, we should arrive at Best Friends shortly before 11:00. There will be no organized drive for the return trip so you will be welcome to further return through Kanab or Zion NP.
The tour through Best Friends will be aboard 2 of their bus/vans with volunteer tour guides. Each bus/van has a capacity of 14, for a total of 28. If interest exceeds 28, accommodations can be made for vehicles to trail along behind the busses and listen in to the tour via their radio. As the roads are mostly dirt/gravel I’d only recommend this option for Cayenne/ Macans and not Black 2004 Turbo S Cabriolets.
Lunch after the tour will be by choice. Picnic tables are available at the visitor center (my preference), so bring a bag lunch. Our stop in Colorado City will be at Bees Marketplace which has a deli for sandwiches, etc. Also, there are plenty of spots in Kanab and along the way to Zion if you prefer otherwise. join us for the picknic.
You will receive a request to sign the speed waiver after registering, before sure to have signed a waiver for everyone in your car.
