Competitive car classes changed in 2022. For 2023 we are using classes based on the PCA "Small Sized Regions" autocross classing structure for Porsches. We have five Stock/Production Porsche classes, one Improved/Modified Porsche class, and two other classes for non-Porsches and expert Porsche drivers. If you are not driving a Porsche, you are in class X01 or X02! Also, Porsches without a Porsche engine and/or transmission also run in an X class.
This link will tell you what class your Porsche is in: 2022 RRRPCA Car Classes.docx Certain modifications to your car, however, may result in a higher competition class. See the 2021 PCR for details.
Showroom Stock and Production classes cannot run R-Comp (R-Type) tires***. Improved and Modified are the only classes that can run R-Comp tires. Tires are considered R-Comps if the tread wear rating is less than 180. "Exception where a "Production" classed car is allowed to run R-Comp tires: Showroom Stock automobiles, delivered from the factory with tread wear of less than 180, may run in their respective Production Category classes. These automobiles must run the N-spec tires specified by Porsche for that year and model and have no additional alterations or modifications"
Event requirements
You must have a valid drivers license to attend our driving events and be 18 years of age or older unless you are eligible for the Porsche Junior Participation Program. You also must sign our PCA insurance waiver, and wear a wristband.
Before you can participate in our autocross, your car will need to pass a basic tech inspection. Tech inspection will take place each day before the start of any driving. Most street cars easily pass the inspection. The owner/driver should do a pre-tech inspection (PCAAutocrossSafetyInspectionChecklistMay2020.pdf) no earlier than 4 weeks prior to the event. You do not have to drive a Porsche to participate.
Helmets: Snell-rated SA2010, SAH2010, or M2010 or newer helmets are required when driving. Equivalent helmets may be used. Helmets with only DOT may not be used. We have a few loaner helmets which should be requested before the event to ensure availability.
This is a "Run/Work" event. That means you are required to work a position when you are not driving during the autocross. We also appreciate any help you can give us before the course walk and during tear-down.
