Rookie Racer Day - must be a rookie or new racer

For rookies with less than four races or new racers. This day will feature a track walk explaining each corner and how to race smart and safely through each section of the track. Followed by controlled practice sessions, one heat race followed by a Final race with podiums and racer debrief talk.

Event Schedule (Subject to delay depending on weather)

*9 am - Track Open - Kart Safety Inspection and talks

*10 am - Track Walk combined with Drivers Meeting
*10:30 am - Controlled Practice 1 by class with an experienced driver to lead follow.
*11:30 am - Controlled Practice 2 by class with an experienced driver to lead follow. (sets the grid for Heat 1)
*Noon - Lunch break and kart tuning advice/help
*1:00 pm - Heat 1 Fun Race (set final)
*2:00 pm - Final Fun Race followed by a podium and debrief

Neck Braces and proper safety gear are required at all times, no driving in the pits doing so will result in a DQ for the event.  Karts may only be started in the grid area with a driver in the seat!  (other clubs have reported runaway karts by not following this rule).  We recommend that everyone involved with your racing team watch this short video regardless of class raced - https://youtu.be/tLO4ucSAupE?t=4  

Please be aware that HCKC events are run by the membership and those who volunteer, you may be asked to help your club out with duties like Grid Stewart, Pre-Tech, Scales, cut-thru, etc.
