Road Less Traveled Mountain Drive

DC Motorwerks

About this event

Start your morning off at 9:30 AM gathering at D.C. Motor Werks (640 James Road, Alpharetta, GA) for coffee, donuts, and bagels. The bagels are provided by nearby B&B, also known as Bronx Bagels, an authentic New York hand rolled and kettle boiled daily. The owners have baked bagels since 1982 with theirs voted as the #1 bagel in the Atlanta area and one of the top ten bagels in the United States.  A treat not to be missed.

The first leg of the trek is to Yonah Mountain Vineyards, which is the most elaborate of the destinations to be visited. The bar bite best known by reviews is their chocolate squares, which we have arranged to be provided to each attendee.

Journey next to Cottage Vineyard and Winery, known in addition to their wines for their unique fruit flavored wine slushies.  Cottage is a mid-sized operation that is slowly expanding. The navigator should try a slushie that can be shared with the driver.

The final leg is to a small winery named Serenity Cellars. Serenity has a patio set up of table and chairs they will reserve all or a portion of for Peachtree participants and will allow us to bring our own lunch and beverages. We recommend that you pack a lunch as you have done for previous mountain drives unless you want to survive on a chocolate square! Wine by the glass will be available from either a mixed half case or full case purchased with event proceeds for those who elect to sample. Serenity has agreed to provide wine glasses for our use. A local nearby restaurant (nine miles is nearby by rural Cleveland standards) of note, Creekside Deli, provides grab and go excellent sandwiches and sides for those who elect not to pack a lunch. When visited, Creekside was busy at lunchtime.

Estimated driving time from D.C. Motor Werks and return is under three hours, not counting lunch and time spent at the respective wineries. All three wineries selected to visit are more than willing to sell you bottles of their wine for later consumption.

This is an excellent low cost event to encourage prospective members to attend

Event registration fee is $20/per car (we are presuming up to two persons vehicle occupancy). Please register by 2 May 2024 as Serenity requires notice of the patio area to reserve for Peachtree.
