SOLO COURSE DESIGN – Kinch Reindl, one of RMSolo’s premier course designers, shares his knowledge and experience in course design. Kinch covers basic course design philosophy and course design considerations specific to our sites. Got the perfect autocross course floating around in your head but have no idea how to get it down on paper? Dean Thornburg demonstrates an easy to use software package that produces first-rate course maps!
SOLO TOWN HALL – Your opportunity to interact with Howard Duncan, SCCA’s VP of Rally/Solo and Special Programs, and members of the RMSolo Chiefs Team. This is your opportunity to find out what’s going on with the National and local Solo programs and to bring your ideas and issues to the folks with their hand on the wheel.
SOLO TIMING AND SCORING TRAINING – Tired of shagging cones or sitting out at the gate for your work assignment? Want to do your work assignment indoors with heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer? Besides being the most comfortable work assignment in Solo, it’s also the most critical to competition. Bob Klingler, Denise Cushing and Dave Duecker, provide hands-on training in T&S hardware, software and event operations.
SOLO SAFETY STEWARD TRAINING – Safety Stewards are critical to Solo events. You can’t hold a Solo event without one! Adequate safety steward coverage has been a perennial problem in RMSolo. Not sure if you’re up for the job? Take the training and get insight into the program, then decide whether it’s for you.
FLAGGING AND COMMUNICATION – Hey, why is that corner worker waving that flag at me? Ed Kajko. Chief of Flagging and Communications gives a run down of the various flags you may encounter on track, and explains what they mean and what you should do when you see one.
CLUB RACING CORNER WORKERS’ FORUM – Corner workers gather to prepare for the upcoming racing season, discussing procedures, retention and recruitment.
PLAYING IN YOUR SWEET SPOT – Rick Myers, SCCA’s Manager of Experiential Programs presents Out of the box thinking includes working and playing in your event or region management sweet spot, dealing with difficult people, defining leadership and why you want to be involved; impact on region & national & sport overall.
SEEDS FOR GROWTH - This Regional Club Racing focused session is a data driven brainstorming session discussing the possibilities open to Regions and program leaders; Region and Division strengths, what drives members to go to other organizations, how can we change and improve our processes and product to appeal to more competitors are some of the topics that will be discussed.
