About this event

Join for this year's exciting Longest Day driving school.  We're joining forces with two of our neighboring BMW car club chapters - the Great Plains folks to our west, and the Kansas City Chapter to our south!

BMW X vehicles, and Porsche SAV's are invited to join us!  Please contact registration for more details.

This year, we'll be featuring an Instructor Training school (ITS) - please contact the registrar for more details.

3-day student looking for an extra day of fun - Longest Day style?  Contact us about driving on Thursday; we'll make you a deal!

We're expecting a huge turnout for all the usual "Longest Day" fun and entertainment.  This is your chance to attend one of the best driving schools available in the country. We strive for and have developed a very effective program to teach novice and experienced drivers the finer points of car control, all at a great facility. We have gathered the best enthusiast instructors from around the Midwest to help you have the time of your life!

So, whether you are an experienced driver or just want to significantly improve your basic on-road driving skills, whether you have a fully track-modified BMW M3, another brand of sports car, or a normal everyday economy car, we welcome all driving enthusiasts.  The "Longest Day" Driving School is the place to be this July. Open to all licensed drivers 18 years of age or older of all skill levels, and we love novice students.

The host hotel is the Country Inn & Suites in Council Bluffs, IA.  We have a block of rooms reserved for the event.

  • Friday, 630p-930p at the host hotel Friday reception
  • 1 hour only Saturday morning at the track from 700a-755a.

Instructor Training School:
We will also be hosting a BMW CCA Instructor Training School. All Marques drivers are welcome.  Students interested in being considered for attending should contact the registrar.  We will require references from your club Chapter/Region Chief Instructor or review of high performance driving history.  We will contact you after evaluating your previous experience and verify references to inform you if you have been accepted. Completeness of past driving history listed on your MSR account is essential. The Chapter has full discretion on acceptance of the candidate's credentials.

All New Instructor Candidates shall have at least 15 High Performance Driving Schools featuring in-car instruction (30 instructed track days) over a MINIMUM three-year period in order to qualify for a Instructor Training School (ITS). Preference is given to BMW CCA chapter schools; the Chief Instructor (CI) may discount any school that they deems unsuitable for the purpose of preparing a student to instruct. Track time without in-car instruction is given a low priority.

Please be aware: all Instructor, "Solo" and "Advanced" run group sessions will be run under the "advanced passing" passing anywhere on the track, with the 'point by' rules. All other run group level will have set passing zones with 'point by' rules.

If you are an Iowa Chapter member who has received a "Thank You" post card for your renewal with a $10 chapter event coupon, please pay for your registration by mail and enclose the coupon.

All remaining info is in the packets, which are available on-line.

Tech Inspection information on-line.

All vehicles must have equal restraints for both the passenger and driver.

Note: BMW X Vehicles, and Porsche SAVs are allowed.  No convertibles, including hard-top convertibles, or non-BMW or Porsche SUVs are allowed on the track for the driving school portion of the event.
