Rally To Tune In The Spring

MatSu Valley area

About this event

The 2017 SCCA AAR Road Rally Season, kicks off with our first GTA event on Saturday, May 20.

GTA means Games, Touring, and Adventure. This event will be geared towards novice drivers or drivers new to our Region, with a lot of extra, helpful information from our more advanced drivers. Registration and participation in this rally will give participants a complimentary pass to the Tune In The Spring car show, as well as a zero-cost weekend membership to SCCA that can be used toward a full membership.

The Rally will begin from the Valley Hotel, at 606 S. Alaska St. in Palmer, and wind around the Wasilla and Palmer area. All registrations must be paid-in-full before Registration closes on Saturday May 20th at 12PM.

Schedule for Saturday - May 20

11:00am - Arrive at Valley Hotel

12:00pm - Registration closes, orientation begins

1:00pm - First car sent out

3:30pm - Approximate end time at Alaska Transportation Museum

All competitors will need to come by Registration upon arrival — both those who registered online and those who register at the event Saturday morning. You will then head to Tech for your vehicle inspection. Vehicles already inspected during a 2017 RallyCross, 2017 Solo (autocross), or 2017 PCA AK event with no modifications since the event do not need to be re-inspected.

Our orientation will include a brief talk by the Safety Steward and Rally master. It will cover the basics of how to read the directions and how to successfully complete this event. This is event will run rain or shine so please be prepared.

Feel free to come by earlier to eat breakfast or lunch at the Valley Hotel.

Please arrive early to allow time to settle your gear, prepare your car, and get through Tech Inspection before orientation. Remember, this event is more about having a fun drive than "racing" and your vehicle needs to be road-worthy.

Don't forget your Driver's License!
