Scottsdale to South Mountain Poker Run
This event will be a leisurely 47 mile drive from Scottsdale to Dobbins Lookout on South Mountain and onto our lunch at the Electric Pickle. One of Tempe’s exciting and newest restaurants. For additional fun, this drive will include a Poker Run and charitable fundraiser.
Our drive will take us from Scottsdale to Papago Park to our break spot at Target, Legacy Village, to Dobbins Lookout on South Mountain and then finally to our lunch location at the Electric Pickle: Google Maps Link
The Drive: After we receive our first card we will leave the Coffee Plantation and then work our way down the Scottsdale/Phoenix border as we approach our first stop at the scenic Papago Park off of N Galvin Pkwy. Here we will receive our second card before being spirited off to our next stop at the Target, Legacy Village for our official morning break. Here we will have a chance to stretch our legs, socialize a bit and as you guessed, receive our 3rd card.
After break we will enjoy the scenery as we drive up South Mountain to Dobbins Lookout to enjoy the views and receive our 4th card. Then finally we will double-back to our lunch location at Electric Pickle and receive our 5th and final card. Still going for that inside straight? You can purchase that 1 additional card you need to make your hand for $10 at the final stop.
Hurry and sign up, let’s enjoy some camaraderie, some nice scenery, charitable giving and a shot at Lady Luck! This should be a very popular event and all 52 slots will go fast.
Poker Run Rules: The prize money will go 50% to charity and 50% to our lucky first place winner. Everyone will each receive a card at the each of the five stops for a total of five cards. The best hand wins. If you don’t make your hand, you have the opportunity to purchase 1 more card at the final stop for $10 (This amount will go directly to our charity recipient and not be part of the prize money).
