Event requirements
Checklist/Requirements:
• Make sure you have a proper helmet for you and any guests:
All helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2010, M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98), SFI standards 31.1, 41.1, 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A or British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are acceptable.
. IT IS REQUIRED. We have two arms, legs, ears, eyes, etc., but only one head. You might as well protect it.
• Make sure you bring tape or something similar to make numbers if you don't have preprinted ones or if you're a two driver car that requires two different numbers. Electrical tape is often the best choice for the job. Be certain to pick something that is severaly contrasting to the color of your car. A dark blue car with black numbers may LOOK cool, but if we can't read your numbers as you're careening into 23 pylons in a tire smoke filled blaze of glory, it will most definitely not BE cool. However, if you intend to strike many cones, and it is your strategy to hope others get cone-called for your mistakes, do what you must.
• Bring any tools required for tire swaps or other routine adjustments/fixes you have to make, as well as any spare parts your car seems to routinely ingest, destroy, or consume in some way. I don't have a carburetor for a 1973 Toyota Corolla just floating around in my Corvette, so if you didn't bring one, and you find yourself routinely needing one when you race, you might be in trouble.
• Check vehicle fluids and general condition. If it's not safe to race, you cannot race it. If you find needed repairs early, you can fix them in your own time instead of scrambling the day of the event to do that tie rod you've been meaning to address that's been about to fall off since Nixon was impeached. If we find it in tech, general wisdom says, that's too late.
• Bring a good attitude. We're all family here and we help each other out. We are not paid to do this, no one here is headed to Formula One, and money generally should not be exchanging hands. Please act accordingly.
• Even if you are the United States President, Queen of England, SCCA official, or an event organizers brother/sister, you MUST do a work assignment if you intend to compete. If you have physical limitations, please notify us ASAP so we can assign you a work assignment that you can perform. People found to be avoiding their work assignments will be asked to leave and banned from future events. We rely on everyone's volunteer assistance for events to run smoothly, and they are not optional.
