CANNON BEACH 2017
Cannon Beach is back after a 2-year hiatus!
Welcome to one of PNWR's favorite tours! Are you fond of spirited driving? Just want to go-with-the-flow? Interested in taking it easy and taking in the sights? Take your pick - there is a tour group for everyone in the 2017 Autumn Cannon Beach Tour!
This tour has an early start - we will meet Friday at the Outlet Collection (formerly the Supermall) in front of the McDonald’s, 1425 Outlet Connection Way, Auburn WA. Arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 AM for waiver signing and receiving route directions. The drivers' meeting is at 8:00 AM and the first group departs at 8:15 to take the beautiful back roads of west-central Washington as we wind our way to a great pizza buffet lunch at Fultano’s in Oregon. From there the tour continues on more scenic and twisty Oregon back roads leading to the Tolovana Inn and a night of discovering the varied eating and drinking establishments in the area on your own or with friends. Dinner and entertainment Friday night is on your own as we prepare for the optional Tillamook Tour on Saturday. For early risers who like a drive before breakfast, the Cannon Beach to Tillamook brunch tour heads down the Necanicum Highway before finishing at the Tillamook Cheese Factory for brunch or just an ice cream sundae. Afterwards a number of options are available, such as a ride over to see the wineries in McMinnville or a visit to the various lighthouses in the area. Just make sure you are back in time for an exceptional dinner!
For those more inclined to sleep in and enjoy Cannon Beach, a full day of beach walks, exploring, and shopping awaits. Like 2015, we'll be arranging some discounts for PNWR club members shopping in town. Nearby Ecola State Park is a great option for hikers and the first parking lot has an excellent spot in which you can park your car and take a great photo of a "lone pine tree" with Haystack Rock in the distance (see the photo above). Saturday evening you can sign up for a great Dinner Social and Buffet at the Tolovana Inn wrapping up what is sure to be a great event (see below for details).
The Friday tour lunch stop Pizza Buffet at Fultano’s is set at $11 per person, paid directly to the restaurant after the meal and includes beverage, soft serve ice cream (hot fudge, yum!), and the tip. Using cash really gets you in and out quickly! (Fultano's - 770 E Columbia River Hwy, Clatskanie · (503) 728-2922) The Saturday Tillamook Factory brunch is ordered from the Tillamook standard menu, again please pay the restaurant directly at the time of your meal. Of course you can also just opt for a big bowl of Tillamook ice cream instead!
Group Dinner
The Group Dinner at the Tolovana Inn catered by the award winning chef Vivienne Higgs of Culinary Capers featuring the Pacific Northwest Buffet for only $53.00 per person all inclusive. Costs have gone up since 2015, but believe me, it's worth it - ask anyone who was there in 2015! A no-host full bar will be provided (cash only) or bring your own wine with a very reasonable $10/bottle corkage charge (again, cash only).

Accommodations
Make your reservations directly with Tolovana Inn; PNWR has reserved a block of 31 rooms with a mix of those listed below. PNWR has these rooms blocked through August 29. You can contact the Tolovana at www.tolovannainn.com or (800) 333-8890 and reference the Porsche Club for room rates. Once again, time and prices march on - with renovations, increased demand, and an earlier (non-off-season) schedule the rates have increased since 2015. We have a cap of about 45 cars so as you can see Tolovana rooms are scarce - as are other other rooms in Cannon Beach - so reserve early!

All individual guestrooms must be guaranteed to a major credit card, one night's room and tax is required as an advanced deposit. All rooms not guaranteed by the cut-off date will be released. All individual guestrooms not canceled 72 hours prior to the day of arrival and /or not claimed (no shows), will be billed for payment.
Event requirements
Tour Requirements:
- Cancelations and refunds: Please read and understand this policy before registering. Up September 18, you may cancel and receive a refund for portions of the event paid directly to PNWR, less a 10% process fee. Hotel Reservations must be canceled directly by you within the policy of the hotel. For additional information, email the event chair at gordonlewandowski@comcast.com.
- Car club membership: To participate you need to be a member of the PCA. As you can appreciate, if we are oversubscribed PNWR members on the waitlist will be given priority for any openings that may occur.
- Non-Porsches on the Tour: Non-Porsches are only allowed on a case-by-case basis under extenuating circumstances (car in the shop, awaiting delivery of a Porsche, etc). Contact Gordon Lewandowski as appropriate.
- For Adult participants and attendees: All drivers and passengers must sign the Waiver Release Form, which will be provided at the tour starting point. There is no need to download, print and sign the form in advance.
- Age and driver's license restrictions: All drivers must be at least 16 years old and in possession of a valid US driver's license at the time of the Tour. A driving permit is not acceptable. For participants under 18 years old, the participant and his/her parents must sign an additional waiver and the participant must attend with at least one parent or legal guardian. Friends and/or other relatives do not meet the waiver requirements and minors not accompanied by at least one (custodial) parent will not be allowed to participate.
- Registering for Passengers: Please make sure to include the first and last names of any passengers riding with you by completing in the space provided during the registration process. If you have two cars on the tour each car and driver should register with a separate Motorsportreg account.
