Phoenix Spring RallyCross Series

Alaska State Fairgrounds

About this event

The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the Phoenix Spring RallyCross Series at the Alaska State Fairgrounds, Palmer, Alaska.

The first will be Phoenix Rises on March 16th, with Fury of the Phoenix on April 6th. The Region is looking foward to seeing you in the driver's seat. Competitors will get a minimum of four runs on the course. Given the format of the day, you should be ready for “lots of seat time”!

Although both events are stand-alone competitions with Class Winners declared at each event, there will be overall winners for those who participate in both events. Enter both and save $15 in registration fees too! Please remember that all competitors must be SCCA Members, and you will find the option for an SCCA Weekend Membership ($10) on the Registration form. You will have a $15 credit towards an SCCA Membership with your Weekend Membership and will have reduced entry fees at all SCCA events — RoadRally, RallyCross and Solo (aka Autocross) as well as SportsCar, the National publication of the Sports Car Club of America.

All competitors who register by the 12:00PM, Friday, March 15th's online close of registration will receive an SCCA RallyCross decal for their vehicle! Of course, you can register trackside on either Saturday morning between 9:00-9:30AM too, yet Event Chairman Bill Demming encourages online registration to help with our preparation for this challenging event!

Phoenix Spring RallyCross Series Schedule

Phoenix Rises Saturday, March 16th

Just as the Phoenix is renewed and regenerated, we are hoping the competition brought to the track will be full of new and prior competitors with a revived spirit!

Fury of the Phoenix, Saturday, April 6th

The Fury of the Phoenix is fierce, we are hoping the competition brought to the track will be too!

8:00AM - RallyCross Team Arrival
9:00 AM  -  9:30 AM - Onsite Registration Hours
All competitors will need to come by Registration upon arrival to check-in — both those who registered online and those who choose to register at the event. Note that Registration is only open for 30-minutes. You will then head to Tech for your vehicle inspection. It is best to arrive early so you'll have more time to walk the course!

Cars will be gridded departing tech, and we will have the first car on course immediately after the Driver's Meeting. The number of runs will be determined from the number of competitors, with a minimum of four runs. There will be a 30-minute lunch break (the RallyCross Team will be reviewing the course) and then resume with the RallyCross Drag portion of the afternoon.

Awards after Competition - Not later than 4:30PM

Event requirements

REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
Online registration for the SCCA Arctic Alaska Region's sanctioned events in the Phoenix Spring RallyCross Series must be made online prior to 12:00PM, Friday, March 15th for Phoenix Rises and Friday, April 5th for Fury of the Phoenix. After that, you will need to call the Region at 243-2122 to registration or arrive trackside during open registration.

Entry fees are $55 for SCCA Members and $65 for those requiring an SCCA Weekend Membership. The Weekend Membership fee gives you an SCCA Weekend Membership. It gives you a $15 discount towards a full SCCA membership, a copy of SportsCar (our national magazine), and some SCCA decals.

DRIVERS LICENSES and HELMETS

Competitors must present a valid driver’s license and sign the Event Waiver.

Helmets: Competitors must have helmets, and they must meet minimum Snell SA-95, K95, or M-95 ratings or newer. The Region will have limited sizes and quantities of “loaner helmets” at the event.

CLASSES, CAR PREPARATION AND MODIFICATIONS
The Region has established four classes for our Winter Championship Season: Stock-2W, Modified-2W, Stock-AWD and Modified-AWD. Tires allowed are all-season, summer, or snow tires with or without street studs. Use of “enhanced” tires” i.e. performance rally tires, tires with more studs than highway legal, extreme mud/snow tires with large paddles, lugs, etc., will NOT be allowed.

Each competitor will be required to present their vehicle ready for inspection to Cose's Tech Inspection Team at 9AM. Vehicles shall have mufflers, working seatbelts, and NO leaking fluids, in addition to the other items on the Tech Sheet. Vehicles deemed too loud by the RallyCross Safety Steward, Event Chairman and the Tech Inspector will not be allowed to participate; please do Alaska's Motorsport Community the courtesy of having your vehicle muffled.

Vehicles with a high-center of gravity (lifted trucks) or vehicles emitting excessive noise will not be allowed to compete. This decision will be at the discretion of the Event Chairman and Tech Inspector.

A Tech Checklist, as well as the Arctic Alaska Region Supplemental Rules for our events will be sent to competitiors after Registration. You may also download the National RallyCross rules from www.scca.com.
