Oregon SCCA Solo Event 8 and 9

Packwood

About this event

Welcome to Oregon Region SCCA Autocross.

Autocross seems very simple – use traffic cones to make a mini-road course in a parking lot or airport and see who can get the lowest time without hitting any cones or going off course.
Despite the low overall speeds attained during competition, it’s one of the most intense, rapid-fire forms of motorsports you can enter, with barriers to entry low enough that many drivers are able to be quite competitive at it. Autocross is a fun, easy, and safe way to learn  the limits of your car.  It is also a social event.  It is part race and part car show.  Come for the competition and stay for the camaraderie.  Or vice versa!

Important note:

As you probably know there are new owners of the Packwood site. They have agreed to continue to rent the site out to clubs until they start to develop the site. Unfortunately, they have substantially increased the cost to rent the site. We have no choice but to increase our fees to cover the site costs.

Packwood events will now be $50. The P.I.R. and Sanderson Field events will still be $35.

We do everything we can to keep our costs down, but costs keep going up. We still believe that Autocross is still an affordable and approachable form of racing. Packwood is much larger than our other sites, has covered parking/camping, and is located in the middle of the beautiful Gifford Pinchot National Forest. We will still have Test-N-Tune events at Packwood on Saturday afternoon for $20 after the points event. Get as many runs as you want for about 50 mins. You must participate in prior event to attend Test-N-Tune.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you at our events.

Event requirements

Event Format
Participants will be in one of two run groups (first run group or second run group), with each group getting around 4 to 6 runs.  If there are enough participants we will run three run groups (run, work, rest).  All cars within a class will run in the same run group. Just like with national level events and other clubs, when one run group is running, the other is working the course. OR-SCCA only counts the first 3 runs towards event points, subsequent runs are non-scored "fun runs".

Event Schedule

Please be sure to arrive by 8:00 AM (earlier is better!) in order to have enough time to get ready and go through reg/tech/course walk.

6:30 AM - Site opens and setup up starts
7:30-8:30 AM - Driver registration, work assignment, and tech inspection open
8:40 AM - Course closed for walking

8:45 AM - Drivers Meeting
9:00 AM - First car on course

4:00 PM – Latest stop time for event - We usually finish around 2:00-3:00 PM

For Packwood and Sanderson Field events we usually host a Test-N-Tune on Saturday afternoon after the competition event.  It costs $20 for almost an hour of as many runs as you want.  You must participate in the competition event prior to be able to do the Test-N-Tune.

Entry Fee

$35 for P.I.R. and Sanderson Field Events
$50 for Packwood Events
$15 Weekend Membership is required for Non-SCCA members.  It covers you for the whole weekend so you only need to pay for the first event of the weekend.

Add $5 if you do not register and pre-pay before the event on MotorsportReg.  It is highly recommended you register and pre-pay online.  This helps our events run more smoothly.

You must register for each day on a weekend separately.
