About this event
Our goal is simple, it's all about lots of safe track time for the experienced driver.
Open Track provides events that give experienced track day drivers and racers ample time on track for driver, car and team improvement by using an "Open Track" format with an Unrestricted session after lunch for most events.
The Open Track format will generally consist of two morning run groups with 1 1/2 hr each and minimal passing restrictions. After an incident free morning we run our Unrestricted format with passing anywhere on track with no assigned run groups. While passing will be unrestricted, we do encourage point-bys and low risk passes. The Unrestricted session after lunch will have no scheduled stoppages until the track kicks us out.
Our Unrestricted afternoon also means less pressure changing setups or fixing break downs before the next session. Drivers will have the flexibility to manage their afternoon track time as they see fit without the pressure to be back on track at certain times.
The Unrestricted sessions are also a great way for endurance race teams to better simulate race day conditions without the risk of racing. Because of this we are offering a limited number of "Endurance Team" packages.
Event requirements
The typical Open Track driver should will at a minimum 10 or more days of solo track experience. Most drivers will probably hold a racing license or have experience in TT or door to door racing.
The Open Track format requires drivers that are comfortable and experienced being passed and passing anywhere on track, execute low risk passes, situationally aware, predictable when near other cars, exhibits good car control, patient,
and above all SAFE.
