About this event

Come join us at TGPR as we host Open Kart Days where we open up the raceway for anyone looking to drive your personal kart on a closed circuit course (race track). Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping experience!

All track time is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and space is limited!

- Early bird Pricing is only $149.00 per driver for a full day on the track! (Rental Karts not included)

-For anyone who signs up within 14 days of an event, the price increases by $20.00 (Late Fee)

-Trackside registrations -on event day- the price is an additional $25.00

Each group receives one (1) 20-minute session per hour.

-There is a $5.00 gate fee for every person entering the facility.  3.5% fee for credit card charges.

Additional driver(s)

If you have multiple drivers for the same kart in the same skill group, only one driver needs to pay the full registration fee. The other driver’s sign-up as additional drivers at a reduced rate at TGPR’s gate day of Event.

If you will be in different skill groups, then you each need to pay the full registration fee as you will be filling a spot in those groups.

GENERAL KART REQUIREMENTS

Each session will be limited to a maximum of 25 karts per session.

All karts entered will be required to display, in plain view, a legible sticker, provided by the track. Minors down to 14yrs must have a valid competition license issued by a nationally recognized racing sanction, without a competition license, the minimum driver age is 16yrs old with a valid driver's license.  All drivers must produce a current state photo I.D. card upon request. A minor’s release is required for all persons under the age of 18.

All karts must pass a safety technical inspection prior to admittance to the track. If your kart does not pass tech inspection, you will not receive a refund. It is your responsibility to have your kart prepared prior to driving on the track. 

Personal Safety Equipment

A. Head Gear

  • Damage free BSI, ECE-2205, DOT, or SNELL full-face helmet with face shield.
  • A full visor, integral with the helmet, is mandatory. Cameras may not be mounted on the helmet or any part of the driver’s body.  All cameras/recorders must be securely mounted on the top of body or frame, and within the confines of the bodywork.

B. Neck Braces

  • Collar-type, unaltered neck braces designed for motor sports use are recommended

C. Driver Apparel

  • Jackets made of leather, vinyl, abrasion resistant nylon, or equivalent are recommended. Full-length pants, gloves, socks, and shoes are mandatory.
  • If driver’s hair extends appreciably below the helmet, it is mandatory that the driver wear a head sock or balaclava to prevent the driver’s hair from extending below the helmet.
  • Loose clothing, bandannas, scarves, hoods, loose belts, etc. are not allowed.
  • The use of flak jackets, or other chest protection devices is strongly recommended in all classes.
  • Open-toe or slip-on shoes are not allowed. Shoes must be laced.  Driving shoes are recommended.

2.    Kart Requirements

A. The kart must be neat in appearance, in good repair, and show quality workmanship.

  • Rear view mirrors are allowed as long as they are mounted to the kart. No hand mounted mirrors allowed.
  • European style clevis snap pins shall be safety wired
  • All body panels must be securely mounted and fastened properly. No sharp edges to be exposed that may cause injury.  No loose parts.

Damage/Clean-up

Damage to any portion of the facility or grounds (structures/track surface/paddock/grass) by any participant or guest will be billed directly to the person(s) responsible at the time of occurrence. Payment for damages will be collected immediately.

CREDITS/REFUNDS
--Refunds (less an administration fee of 15%) are only given if a written request is received 14 or more days prior to the start of an event.
--Credit will be issued for cancellations if a written request is received 7 or more days prior to the event.
--Credit cannot be applied to a completed order
--Credit cannot be transferred to another driver
--Credit expires 6 months after the date of issuance unless otherwise noted
--No cancellations are accepted 7 days or less prior to an event. (No credit or refunds issued).

WEATHER POLICY
Our Kart events will run rain or shine. TGPR may cancel an event due to hazardous weather; in this case we will issue credits for redemption at a later date but you must be present at the event to receive a credit.  

EVENT CANCELLATIONS
If an event is cancelled due to other unforeseen circumstances, cancellation credits will be issued.

Event requirements

Entry to the track is at 7:00 am and the track goes hot at 9:00 am for the first session.  The final session for the day will conclude at 5:00 pm.  Each group receives one (1) 20-minute session per hour and typically there are seven rotations. There will be a break for lunch at 12noon (11am-noon on Sunday).  All times are CST.

RIDERS' MEETINGS:   8:15 AM

Each day begins with a mandatory riders’ meeting- YOU MUST ATTEND TO RIDE THAT DAY!
Daily driver meetings cover information that is critical to the safety of all drivers participating in the event; if you miss the meeting, you will forfeit your ability to participate and you will not receive a refund or credit of any kind.  If your track day is important to you, you need to arrive on time!

As a reminder, TGPR does not teach drivers how to operate a kart; it is required that drivers are comfortable at driving at a fast pace to participate in our events.

▸ Minors down to 16yrs must have a valid state-issued driver's license.
▸ Minors down to 14yrs must have a valid competition license issued by a nationally recognized racing sanction.
▸ No minors under 14yrs will be allowed to operate a kart in any capacity.
▸ Minors under 18yrs must have a parent or guardian with them onsite at all times. The parent or legal guardian of a minor driver must sign the event waiver and additional minor waiver. 

In addition to the required waivers, the following documentation is required at registration:
▸ Parent or legal guardian’s photo identification
▸ Minor’s race license or drivers’ license (whichever is applicable)

There will be no refunds issued for failure to adhere to the requirements stated here. We strongly recommend that you contact the office prior to registration for clarification on any questions you may have regarding these policies.
