About this event

2015 Annual Tech pre-season shakedown!

ATTENTION NASA racers! Book mark the date, we will be pre-season testing and performing Annual inspections for licensed racers, and Time Trial drivers March 14th. Join us Saturday and get your 2015 annual completed, then shake down your car on Miller Motorsports West track. Don't miss this opportunity to shake out the bugs, test that new upgrade, or debut a new car before the first points event of the 2015 season. This event is open only to LICENSED RACERS, including OPEN WHEEL, and TIME TRIAL drivers. HPDE is not eligible for annual tech (your time will come...)

Rules

This event is for licensed Time Trial holders, and road racers only, HPDE is not eligble for annual inspection. For cars that have held an annual inspection before, you should have a log book, and have your previous annual sticker. If you did not hold a previous annual, the inspection process takes much more time. Please be careful when selecting your line item below. If you have a preferred shop, and they have already performed your 2015 annual tech, please bring the completed form to the event in exchange for your annual tech sticker, and select the "existing logbook" option!

Event pricing
Racing car no logbook -----------------------$150
Racing car with existing logbook --------$100
Time Trial car  ------------------$100

Rules
New logbook cars must pass a thorough inspection, please review the annual inspectors tech form prior to bringing your car to inspection. Look for things like large diameter washers underneath bolts going through the floor pan for seats and harnesses. Clip in harness belts must be safety pinned. Belts, and window net must be current, and seat must be current or braced. Cover up all holes between in your firewall/firewalls, and cover battery and starter hot terminals. Pay close attention to roll cage compliance rules, and please pre-drill your cage tubing inspection holes.

If you have had your 2015 inspection performed by one of our certified annual inspection shops, please bring the paperwork signed by a shop representative, and select a "previous log book" line item to register for the event.

Time Trial cars do not require all of the safety equipment that race cars do, but they must have tow hooks installed, and no glycol in the coolant system. We know many of you drive your street cars in the Time Trial group, but if you insist on keeping glycol in your coolant system you can still use the standard HPDE inpsections prior to each event to qualify for the event. Keep in mind it takes temperatures below 30 degrees to threaten freezing your water only cooling system. Also Time Trial drivers should pay close attention to your driver restraint system. Stock belts with stock seats is fine, 5 or 6 point with fixed back race seat is fine. Mixing belts and seats will not pass our inspection. Seats and belts do not have to be current, but must be in reasonable condition. It's certain that questions will arise, so please contact Matt.Guiver@NASAUTAH.com or by

Test and tune track time

Drivers meeting MANDATORY 9:00 AM

Once again MMP has been very accommodating and will be allowing drivers that get their annual tech inspections completed to do some test and tune driving. Please be sure to pre-register to be eligible for track time.

Registration is open from 8am to 9am

Tech begins at 9:00 am and will continue throughout the day.

Trackday schedule will be determined based on participation, first group will go out at 10 am, and we will finish at 4:00 pm. We will be the guests of MMP for our driving time. MMP will be hosting driving time for Open wheel racers, and Time Trial/NASA competition license holders. With only 2 groups running this day, track time should be abundant.
