NASA at Targa Arizona

Targa Arizona

About this event

Welcome to our first edition of Targa Arizona 2020. Based on our years of experience producing rally/tours in California, Baja, and Colorado, we have expanded our 2020 season to include the great state of Arizona. With it's incredible scenery our March 18-21 date is sure to satisfy your touring appetite  in a classic car.

Our event is open to 1975 and older models of all makes of cars . Note that we do accept continuation models up to a certain type. We also accept replica cars, such as Cobras, Austin Healey, etc. We do get intrigued by some newer models, so contact me at targacalifornia@gmail.com with a picture and tell me why your car is special . We will allow some exceptions.

What is this event about ?
Focus is on having fun as this is not a race or timed rally. This is a fun tour exposing you and friends to some of the best sports car roads we can find. We do our best to avoid the main highways whenever possible. We vary our routes from year to year, so the events stay "fresh" . We add on some unique touches , as in this year a visit to INDE Motorsports Ranch. A private club that is opening their gates, and TRACK, to us on our last day.

What is included in my $675 entry fee?
Besides the event production costs, we include one quality embroidered polo shirt, one embroidered hat, one embroidered event back pack, two large rally stickers, two small rally stickers, two lunch opportunities for two, two Farewell Dinner/Party for two. Really a bargain when comparing to other similar events !  Extra event stickers, polo shirts (both in mens and womens sizes) and a special embroidered event jacket (see pics at www.targarally.com  ) are available at extra cost

What else do I need to join in , besides my entry fee?
At least one person in your car must be a current NASA member. Your membership is only $45 per year (plus a small administration fee) and covers all our Targa events eligibility for the year. You are responsible to arrange ,and pay for your own accommodations (see our hotels list), an event eligible car, some money for fuel and food. AND a good sportsmanlike attitude.

What do I need to prepare my car?
If accepted, we will send you a tech inspection form. This detailed list has items that you, or a qualified mechanic, will check before the event. You can scan and e mail it back to us no later than March 12th. We want you to have a great time with the maximum reliability and safety. In addition to the check list, we strongly advise that you have a 10BC rated or better fire extinguisher, properly mounted, within hands reach. A first aid kit is not a bad idea either.  If your car has some unusual belt sizes, light bulbs, or hoses that are prone to break. Basically a little spares kit is good to have. A lot of us carry these items, a tow strap, and warning triangle in our cars already.

How do I dress?
Leaving Cosplay for another type of event, you are welcome to dress casually. Desert nights can be cool , so a jacket (also available as an optional event item to purchase) or sweater is a good idea too.

How much time do I have to enter?
Sorry, but to be honest we had a late start in getting this event put together, so you only have till February 26th to enter and receive the included apparel. After that date, you may still enter, but no shirts, hats, or other clothing orders will be honored.

Refunds ? If before February 27th, yes minus a $50 admin fee . Sorry the NASA membership is not refundable. February 27th till the event - no refund. Only $500 credit towards a future Targa event.
