About this event
Thank you for your interest in our track day scheduled for Saturday October 20th at Grattan Raceway located at 7201 Lessiter Rd NE, Belding, MI 48809. This event is open to all makes and models. Gates open at 7:00am, Mandatory driver's meeting is at 8:15 and 1st car on track is at 9:00am. We're limiting the number cars to around 45 total and splitting those into 3 run groups so register early! It's going to be an awesome day with our goal of each registrant getting some serious track time! BIG thanks to German Auto Service in Grand Rapids for their support of the event! Cost is $135 for MIVE members and GAS customers, all others is $159.
Event requirements
~ Registration/Check-in from 7:30 - 8:45am ~
Gates open at 7:00am. Registration/Check-in will start at 7:30am. Everyone must come to the registration table to check in and sign the waiver (everyone, not just drivers). Mandatory tech inspection will start at 7:45am. You must first check-in to get your car number & sticker BEFORE going through tech. Day-of registration will be available if there are spots still left. Drivers who want to share a car must reach out to me in advance.
~ Sessions ~
We're going to have 3 groups for the day (faster, fast, novice). When you register you can choose which group you would like to REQUEST to be in. I reserve the right to move drivers around to get even groups. If you want to switch groups, we can definitely discuss the day of the event. Each group will have approximately 15 cars and hopefully get 7 sessions during the day. Each session will be about 20 minutes. Yes, our goal is for each driver to get over 2hrs of track time! First session is at 9am and we'll start with the Faster group.
~ Tentative Schedule ~
• Gates open at 7:00am
• Step 1: Check In / Registration - Opens at 7:30am
• Step 2: Tech Inspection – Opens at 7:45am
• Step 3: Mandatory Drivers Meeting at 8:15am
• Sessions scheduled to start at 9:00am
• Lunch Break from 12:00pm until 1:00pm (lunch is not provided)
• Low Speed Parade laps will be allowed during lunch following a pace car
• Sessions will resume at 1:00pm
• Track closes at 5:00pm (last session is at 4:40pm)
~ Drivers Meeting at 8:15am ~
A mandatory drivers meeting will start promptly at 8:15am. There are always several new people to the track and we want to make sure everyone is ready for the day. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE. Flags, safety rules, and other questions will be covered at this time.
~ Lunch from 12:00pm – 1:00pm ~
Lunch break is from 12:00pm until 1:00pm. Refuel, recharge, and get ready for your next session! This is the perfect time to ask questions while you eat a sandwich! Lunch will not be provided, so be sure to bring your own. Please be back on time prior to your next scheduled session.
~Equipment~
Your car can NOT be leaking any fluids of any kind. Nothing is to be loose, or falling off. Wheel lugs must be torqued. Brake lights must be working. You must have some type of seatbelt or harness. You must wear a helmet (Snell 2000 or newer & not damaged). Helmets are not provided and rentals are NOT available. Convertibles must have roll bars that support the weight of the vehicle & be higher than the participant’s helmet. All loose objects that may fly around must be taken out of your car prior to tech inspection (including floor mats). Although it’s not mandatory, we strongly suggest you have your car inspected preferably by a technician (if you are not familiar with what to look for) at least 1 week before the event. Basically, if you think something is questionable, PLEASE ASK! German Auto Service can do tech inspections prior to the event - call them at (616) 454-3289.
