MCSCC Driver School #2

Blackhawk Farms Raceway

About this event

Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs is calling all members, racers, and volunteers!

We will host the Midwestern Council Driver's School #2 at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. This school will include sessions for wheel-to-wheel closed-wheel cars only. (Open-wheel drivers may be interested in our April 2026 school.) You will spend the entire day either on the track or receiving constant feedback from experienced instructors. Wheel to Wheel students will receive an MC (MCSCC) 2026 Novice Competition License upon successful completion and can sign up for the race on Sunday.

Wheel-to-Wheel Program

  • Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible to receive a 2026 MC (MCSCC) Novice Competition License, allowing them to sign up for the Sunday race after the license ceremony.

Additional Schools for Novice License Holders

We highly recommend taking additional schools to gain valuable knowledge, experience, and enjoyment from racing.

How to Apply for the Additional School as an Existing Novice License Holder

To apply for the Driver's School, visit mcscc.motorsportreg.com and select the "Novice – Additional School" option. There's no need to pay for a Driver School Permit if you already hold a Midwestern Council license. Additionally, current MCSCC license holders are not required to attend the online classroom session. However, you can indicate your interest in attending the session using the "Note to Registrar" field during online registration. Please note that Novice License Signoffs are not provided for school events.

Wheel-to-Wheel Driver's School

Welcome to the MCSCC Wheel-to-Wheel Racing School! We're thrilled you're interested in taking your driving to the next level.  This program offers advanced training for the intense world of wheel-to-wheel competition.  Your application is the first step.  After we receive it, we'll send you a questionnaire to learn more about your on-track race car driving experience.

Success in this program depends on two key elements: demonstrating competent race-driving skills and meeting the standards outlined below.  Our curriculum goes beyond basic driving, focusing on race craft—strategic thinking and tactical execution—and the procedural aspects of racing, from grid procedures to flag recognition.  You'll receive one-on-one driving coaching with your instructor. While prior on-track experience is beneficial, the questionnaire will help us assess your current skill level and determine how we can best support your development within the program. This program is designed to refine existing skills and prepare you for competition, building upon your current foundation to prepare you for wheel-to-wheel racing challenges.”

You will have to have a completed race car for this event that complies with all MCSCC Safety Regulations.

The Wheel-to-Wheel Drivers School consists of two parts:

  • Online Classroom: A mandatory online class and test will be held via Zoom (date TBD). The session will start at 5:30 PM (central time) and last approximately 2 hours. You will receive a link to the online test after the class. This classroom session covers essential information for passing the school, including flags, passing techniques, basic cornering techniques, and more.

  • On-Track Training: All students are required to attend on-track registration on Friday, August 7th, 2026, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM (central time). Depending on track availability, the track gates may open later. Please arrive at the track before 7:45 AM on Saturday and prepare for a full day of learning and rewarding experiences.

The school fee is $495. A limited number of Track Time Only slots are available at $250.

THE FULL INFORMATION PACKET will be available at a later date.

Instructions for Medicals:  Details to follow.
