Join us for a tour of a Trident Submarine and the Trident Training Facility at Subase Kings Bay Georgia on May 14th.  We'll have lunch in the galley and also stop at the missile display in front of the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic Headquarters.  Afterwards, we'll proceed independently to the Kings Bay Submarine Museum.

We'll meet in the lobby of La Quinta Inn, Kingsland Georgia at 5 pm the night before on May 13th for a brief reception, then we'll eat at one of the local restaurants (probably Seigles).   On Tuesday morning (the day of tour) we'll meet in the parking lot just outside Stimson Gate at 9:45 (time subject to change) and be picked up by base staff.

Though the tour is free, the event planner is required to pay for the group's lunch and we've added a little bit for the welcome reception so we're charging $14 per person. Monday night's dinner will be individual checks ordering from the menu. 

SOME THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

- Submarine schedules can be very flexible and I've seen submarine tours cancelled on short notice due to operational committments.  Do not be surprised if we get close to tour date and have to reschedule.  Note that because of this, room reservations should be refundable.

- If you can't negotiate a vertical ladder you shouldn't sign up for this tour. There is a fair amount of walking and standing associated with a submarine tour and entering/departing the submarine may be via a vertical ladder. If this is a problem for you, don't sign up for the tour.

- US Citizens only.

- The registration cut off date is at least three weeks before the tour because we have to provide the names in advance. Do not wait to sign up.  This will be a small group and it will fill up quickly.

- We'll have to leave our cell phones in the vehicle during the tour, no photos of the submarine or the lower base area.
