IIRA Presents: IceCross
This is an autocross event held on an IIRA ice track. One car at a time will be sent and timed, and fastest single times over the day will be the winners.
On the preceding Saturday, IIRA is hosting wheel to wheel racing and open track time. Registration for that event can be found here.
All events are subject to ice and weather conditions. YOU WILL ONLY BE CHARGED FOR THE EVENT AFTER IT HAS HAPPENED, so you will not pay when you register. Your credit card on file will charged on the Monday after the event takes place.
Location is still to be determined. All venues will be within about a 1.5-hour drive from the Twin Cities. This event will be updated as soon as the location is confirmed.
Common locations are:
- Madison Lake (near Mankato, MN)
- Pokegama Lake (near Pine City, MN)
- East Rush Lake (near Rush City, MN)
- North Center Lake (near Lindstrom, MN)
Entry costs:
- $60 entry fee
- Some form of IIRA license is required to participate. The following options are available:
- $15 for a Sunday-only license
- $80 for annual license (available here)
- $45 for weekend license (if you're also participating on Saturday)
Schedule: (Schedule may vary based on attendance)
- 8:00 AM: Staff arrives on site – starts setup
- 9:00 AM: Registration and tech opens
- 9:45 AM: Driver's meeting, parade lap
- 10:00 AM: First car off
- 11:30 AM: Switch heats
- 1:00 PM: Lunch break/plowing if needed
- 1:30 PM: First run group second heat
- 3:00 PM: Second run group second heat
- 4:30 PM: Event results posted
- 4:35 PM: Event complete, take down/pack up
Event requirements
All cars/trucks/SUVs are welcome, subject to some safety equipment and tech inspection. (Trucks and SUVs that are a rollover risk are not allowed to run studded tires)
Basic requirements:
- Driver must hold a valid driver's license
- Know your car's tow point locations and how to access them; stock points work well, and be prepared for an easy extraction if you get stuck
- Car needs to pass a basic tech inspection
- Studded tires are not allowed on trucks and SUVs that are a rollover risk

Helmets:
- 2010+ SNELL rated helmet or newer
- ECE 22.05 with manufacture date newer than 2015 (Know where your manufacture date is located before going to tech)
- Passengers are allowed provided they have an approved helmet.
