If you've attended a Flying Husky Racing event, you know we aim to make things easy for you, keeping your overhead low and quality time on track high. It takes a lot of effort and time to be able to have this kind experience together, and we want to make the most of it. In addition to lots of track time, we're excited to offer several trackside services providing onsite support, so you can focus your energy on driving and maximizing your enjoyment of the day. These services are included as part of your track day with Flying Husky Racing:

  • Cantrell Motorsports will provide trackside mechanical, diagnostic, technical, and wrenching assistance during the event. If something unplanned happens to your car, or you need advice, it's always great to know there are knowledgeable and dependable people there who you can trust to help you out.
  • Tire and wheels support provided by Right Away TireRAT will get your tires set the way you like, check your pressures during sessions, and get you aired back up for the drive home. They can also transport your wheels to/from the track, or bring a new set of rubber to mount to your car on the day of the event.
  • J&L Fabricating and Cameron Racing USA provide expert support and development for our fleet of Lola F3 and Ligier LMP3 racecars.
  • Transport options are available via our partner, Carworx, if you want help getting your vehicle(s) to and from the track (additional costs apply).

More details about these services, and additional ones we have in the works, will announced as they are developed so you have plenty of time for you to incorporate these offerings into your plans for the day.

Flying Husky Racing is still developing its programs, including lapping events and the Flying Husky Racing Club (FHRC). We have a great calendar ahead and are planning to orchestrate many further events like these in the future, with special experiences only for our members and guests.

Our Operating Philosophy:

  • Be nice, be friendly, be safe, be cool.
  • Deliver premium track programs for enthusiasts in the PNW. We all still have plenty to learn and were all once new, but we focus our offerings for intermediate and advanced drivers.
  • We're open and inclusive. We welcome people with intermediate and advanced driving skills from all backgrounds, and aim to enable a great experience where everyone can be themselves and have a fun time.
  • We do recruit very carefully. If you know of a talented and safe driver who is also fun to have around, we’d love to meet up – perhaps as a guest at the next event. Contact us first. We're not trying to be snobbish or exclusive; we are trying to ensure we have a good group of drivers who we all trust to be on track with, and who we want to spend our precious free time around.
  • We're not competing; we're enjoying spirited driving with friends. There may be a time and place for racing; we will make that well known, and otherwise, we're not.
  • Have fun, and be excellent to each other.

Event requirements

Lapping Day Logistics:

  • Thursday 31 Mar 2022 @ The Ridge Motorsports Park, Shelton WA (aka ʻO ka pā heihei Ridge)
  • On track from 9am-5pm (lunch 12-1p); sessions to split GT vs. open wheel/Formula cars may be in effect
  • Invited Intermediate and Advanced drivers only.
  • Point-by or Turn Signal preferred for open passing anywhere on track
    • The Turn Signal is your finger. Signal Left to point Left; signal Right to point Right.
  • Weather happens. Rain or shine, we roll.
  • Trackside support is included: Tires, wheels, mechanical assistance, and other services; see "Support Services" below.

Covid rules:

  • Covid-related health precautions will be enforced. Who even knows what they will be by then? We'll discuss at the drivers meeting.

Safety:

  • Friendly lapping at no more than 8/10ths -- make that 7/10ths if it's your first event of the season; this is not a race.
  • Helmets are required. Long pants and sleeves made of natural fibers or Nomex, and driving gloves are recommended.
  • You should have a roll cage and 5- or 6-point harness belts. HANS device required with harness belts.
  • Hybrid HANS STRONGLY encouraged for cars without harness belts.
  • Download the TECH INSPECTION CHECKLIST. This is important; you are responsible for your vehicle safety inspection. This checklist must be filled out by a qualified automotive repair provider. If you self-inspect, double check your work carefully. This includes your tires; please do not run with marginal tires, which jeopardize the safety of other drivers.
  • Track insurance can be bought through OpenTrack (no affiliation), or other providers.

Support Services:

  • Trackside services make the day smoother, and help you focus on driving and enjoying the day. We're offering tire and wheel assistance, and vehicle diagnostic and mechanical support onsite, INCLUDED as part of your day with Flying Husky Racing.
  • Expert techs from Cantrell Motorsports will be onsite to provide general diagnostic, mechanical, and other tech services for your vehicle at the track. They'll have the tools and the know how to help you out of jam, or to give you a helping hand.
  • Our friends from Right Away Tire will be onsite to take care of you all day providing trackside assistance with setting tire pressures, IR scan and record tire temps, and provide other tire/wheel support. We have requested your initial tire pressures (first session), hot pressures (ongoing sessions), and drive home pressures (back for the street) as part of your first registration with Flying Husky Racing. If you provide this info (provide temps for the car you'll be driving at this event), we'll have RAT there taking care of you.
  • Racecar support and services by Cameron Racing USA and J&L Fabricating
  • Artful pix of the day by Karl Noakes Motorsport Photography
  • These services are at no additional charge to you. We just ask you to thank your techs and other staff profusely – get to know them, and treat them as equal members of our team.
  • You're welcome! Enjoy!
