GRAND PRIX REGION IS HAVING OUR DAY AWAY FROM WORK (DRIVER’S EDUCATION)
MONDAY OCTOBER 12, 2020 AT STREETS OF WILLOW SPRINGS, ROSAMOND, CA
WE ARE THRILLED TO BE SPONSORED BY HOUSE AUTOMOTIVE
DUE TO THE Covid 19 EVERYONE MUST HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO BE CLEARED TO DRIVE SOLO
WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE INSTRUCTION IN THE CAR
THE PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA HAS STATED WE MUST WEAR A MASK IN PUBLIC AND PRACTICE PHYSICAL DISTANCING OF SIX (6) FEET – INSTRUCTION OF 2 PEOPLE IN A PORSCHE IS NOT POSSIBLE TO MEET THE SIX-FOOT RULE FOR THIS EVENT!
HOWEVER, IF YOU CO HABITAT WITH SOMEONE, AND ONE IS AN INSTRUCTOR, YOU MAY HAVE THE OTHER PERSON IN THE CAR FOR INSTRUCTION
Everyone must wear a mask at all times (within reason) unless eating or drinking or in a car wearing a helmet
We will try and keep this a clean and simple event by not having our usual Sunday night meeting – especially as there will be no novice meeting
We will do Sunday CHECK IN at the event hotel and FINAL TECH INSPECTION
CHECK IN AND FINAL TECH INSPECTION WILL BE DONE ON MONDAY MORNING ALSO STARTING AT 7 AM UNTIL THE DRIVER’S MEETING AT 8:15 AM
AS ALWAYS, WITHIN 30 DAYS OF OUR EVENT YOUR CAR MUST BE INSPECTED BY A SHOP LISTED ON THE ZONE 8 WEBSITE, USING THE TECH INSPECTION FORM AVAILABLE ON THE ZONE8.ORG WEBSITE
PLEASE COMPLY WE DO NOT WANT TO BE IN A POSITION SEND ANYONE HOME BECAUSE YOUR TIRES OR BRAKES DO NOT MEET MINIMUM STANDARDS OR OTHER ISSUES

REQUIREMENTS
PLEASE READ - THE REVIEWS ARE EXCELLENT!!!
i. A minimum of 4 days of instructor signed-off DE or Time Trial days are required before a Novice can be signed off by the Chief Driving Instructor as qualified to drive solo
ii. Alternatively, if a driver has completed a minimum of 4 days of autocross, performance driving school, or equivalent, they may be eligible to drive solo with a minimum of 2 days of instructor signed off DE or TT events,and approval of the GPX Chief Driving Instructor
iii. A PCA region or zone Chief Driving Instructor has the authority to sign off a driver as qualified to drive solo if determined that that driver’s previous experience is at least the equivalent of the
requirements stated above
a. This might include a license from another organization or other experience. The CDI may determine that additional experience in the form of a single PCA DE or TT (or more) be required before the sign-off.
b. Non-PCA events may be acceptable.
c. This experience shall be accumulated over a period of at least 6 months, but not more than 24 months.

Novices will not be allowed to participate because we cannot allow two people in a car for instructional purposes but, if you have driven with us previously as a novice but have not been signed off to drive solo, but think you are qualified to drive solo, you need to speak with either Skip Carter or Dave Hockett prior to the event

YOU MUST SHOW YOUR COMPLETED TECH FORM FROM THE SHOP THAT DID YOUR INSPECTION
NONE STOCK CARS MUST be classified for modifications - Some cars with modifications may require safety equipment
To Classify your car please go to Zone8.org - click on Events at the top of the page and then Event Rules - Car Classification - on the left side is a menu - please register and then proceed to complete the information so that you are able to classify your car
