General Event Information
This is open to NCCC members and corvette owners. Only corvettes will be allowed to particapate in the Matchng Times Autocross and Car Show.
The Corvette Club of Iowa is hoisting an introduction to autocross course. This course is for people who want to get into autocross, but where concerned they did not know all the rules and requirements. We will cover everything you need to know to get you started in autocross. Bring a chair.
If you are not into driving and thinking about being a course worker, this is the event for you as well. We will teach you radio protocol and course penalties. After the course, there will be a matching time low speed autocross to try your new skills for both drivers and workers.
A matching time low speed autocross is about consistency versus fast time. Each event will consist of three runs each. Your score will be the difference in time between your two closest runs in each event. The lowest time difference is the winner. The matching time autocross will be a limited to 25 cars. Slow and steady will win the race. This will be a relaxed atmosphere to try your hand at autocross. The Club will have loaner helmets available. Electric vehicles are not eligible to participate in the MT autocross. Corvette E-Rays are eligible to compete.
After the matching time autocross there will be a car show at the south side of the casino. If you are not a member of the Corvette Club of Iowa you are welcome to sign up to participate, or come and check it out as this would be a good time to join the Corvette Club of Iowa.
All listed times are Central Daylight Times (CDT). Driver’s license is required for matching time autocross. Snell 2015 certified or newer helmets with current certification are required for all speed events. All minors and pets are the responsibility of the parent/owner. All NCCC western region permanent numbers will be supported, all other car number assignment will be done at event registration. No class changes after tech closes unless a mechanical malfunction is experienced. No firearms allowed on the event property.
The host club event Chairperson, Club Governor, Host Region RCD or NCCC VP Comp at the event may deny or remove any person demonstrating unsafe performance or actions at the event from participating in any events for the balance of that day or weekend. Further, a person who has been documented as behaving in an unsafe manner which could endanger them or anyone else at the events may be denied participation. We are trying to cover our costs for this event so there will be no trophies awarded and no refunds will be given.
AS PER WEST REGION RULES, “For low speed autocrosses, long pants are required for Group 3 and RP (Race Prepared) class cars. No spandex, lycra or other synthetic pants are allowed. Jeans or fire pants are recommended.
Each competitor, worker, and spectator on the property must personally sign the insurance waiver. Non-NCCC members are not covered by our insurance at these events.
