THIS IS A SPECIAL EVENT - SOME OF THE DETAILS ARE DIFFERENT
>>>
The SCHEDULE is different<<<
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFO BELOW... REALLY!

Endurocross is one of the most fun autocross variants we know of, and it happens to be very "casual" because each car is on course for so long that everything seems to happen really slowly. (for everyone but the driver on course)

An "Enduro" autocross is one where each run consists of multiple laps of a course that is designed to allow easy looping and to be relatively easy to drive. We usually do 4 or 5 lap runs for a run time of about 3-4 minutes. That's right... a whole event's worth of autocross in ONE run! Maybe that doesn't sound like much, but it's pretty intense and it WILL wear you out!

In addition to being a challenge for drivers (even on a cool day), it can also be a challenge for your car. So, be sure your cooling system is up to par, your braking system is well-maintained, and your tires have enough tread. Would be a really good idea to check your oil, too!

This format is very inefficient, allowing only one car on course at a time. For this reason, it has to be limited entry, and limiting entry means we also need to charge a higher entry fee. But, it's totally worth it. Ask anyone who's ever done one!

One of the ways we maximize our time on course is to simply keep a car out there at all times. Once we start the event, we don't stop until we're done! We do worker changes one worker at a time so as to not disrupt the flow. We don't stop for lunch. (with 10-12 cars per group and 3-minute runs... you're looking at 30 minutes between your runs... plenty of time to eat)

Because the FAST "split event" format works so well, we will do the same for this event. That's right, not only do you get two autocrosses worth of driving time, you still have the option of only being out in the sun for half the day!

As usual, you have the option of running the Early Session or the Late Session. Or if you're completely mental, you could do both! Note that there is NO afternoon course walk. If you want or need to walk the course, register for the Early Session!

This will be a Split Event. There will be an early session and a late session, each run independently. All drivers will run on the same course, and the two "separate events" will be combined for final scoring. Carefully select your option on the registration form to be sure you are signing up for the correct session.

ADJUST YOUR EXPECTATIONS:
Normally, we try to design an Endurocross course to be fairly simple, easy to follow, easy to drive, with a balance between left and right turns, and able to be driven by most cars in 2nd gear without requiring shifting up and down on each lap. Doing this at Venice, the space available requires that the course have a 20-mph hairpin turn-around on each end. This means that each and every lap will require TWO first-gear downshifts, and subsequent upshifts to 2nd. Shifting to 3rd probably won't be required for most cars. If you're good at shifting and your car doesn't have any shifter/transmission/clutch issues, you won't have any trouble with this course. BUT, DON'T SAY WE DIDN'T WARN YOU. There will be a lot of downshifting in this Enduro. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Don't complain after the fact. We're TELLING you, this is how it's going to be this time. Aside from the shifting (or perhaps because of it?), the course will be a blast!

IMPORTANT:

  • Venice is a secure site, and we only man the gate for check-in at certain times. If you are late, no one will be there to let you in!
  • Check-in for the EARLY session begins at 8:30am. You must be signed in by 9:00am!
  • Check-in for the LATE session will only be open from 12:00-12:30. You must be signed in by 12:30am!
  • For this event, any registered driver or guest can be on-site all day, but you can only access the site at the times specified. The gate will not be manned at other times.
  • Be sure to review the schedule below and be there on time and ready to make things happen!
  • Note that there is NO afternoon course walk! If you feel you must have a course walk, register for the Early Session (or just be there at that time)! Otherwise, you can figure it out on your first lap. It's a pretty simple course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT: No first-time autocrossers for this event.

Driver Registration - $99
Guest Registration - $10

Driver, Guest and Passenger Requirements

  • No children (under 16) and no pets allowed on site. Sorry, our events are inherently dangerous and are not insured as "spectator events".
  • Drivers under age 18 must be fully licensed (no permits) and have a parent or guardian to sign the insurance waiver allowing them to participate.
  • All participants must show their valid driver's license and sign an insurance liability waiver at check-in. No exceptions! This waiver effectively says that you are responsible for damage to your own vehicle, property and person. Autocross is among the safest motorsports you'll find, and FAST does everything possible to ensure a safe event. You compete/attend/participate at your own risk. But, you really should read that waiver and fully understand it before you sign it!
  • Passengers must meet the same license requirements as drivers and are only permitted in a car if the driver or passenger qualifies as an instructor.
  • Drivers and passengers must wear a DOT approved helmet. We have loaner helmets available at no charge.
  • Shorts and T-shirt or other comfortable attire suitable for the weather are appropriate.
  • Closed toed shoes are required!

Safety, Vehicle Requirements & Classing

  • Safety is the most important aspect of what we do. Please take a moment to read our Safety Rules.
  • Each competition vehicle must pass a safety inspection. You can pre-check your car against our Safety Inspection Checklist.
  • To classify your car and familiarize yourself with the FAST preparation rules, begin with our Classing Overview page.

Work Assignments

  • Each registered driver must work at least one session. (volunteers are welcome throughout the day!)
  • Special work assignments are first-come, first served and based on experience and our needs. Your requested assignment is not guaranteed. Most entrants will be required to work course.
  • If you have physical limitations, be sure to request a work assignment that is within your abilities AND state your limitations in your profile.
  • NOTE: Certain information that does not often change is stored in your user account profile so that you don't have to enter it each time you register. This includes work assignment preferences and disability info. You can view or edit that information at any time by going to My Account > Edit My Information > Edit Clubs > Edit (on the FAST organization).
