Back of the Dragon & Snake (New for 2025) Driving Tours

We are pleased to announce a return trip to the Back of the Dragon. The Back of the Dragon tour goes from Abingdon, Virginia (Southwest, VA) to Tazewell , VA (129-mile round trip).  The Snake tour (new for 2025) goes from Abingdon to the Eastern part of Tennessee (62-mile round trip).  We will have 2 drives, the first on Saturday morning followed by a Saturday afternoon tour. We will all congregate for a Saturday night dinner.

This event is a 2-night stay with arrival on Friday, July 11th, and staying through Sunday morning, July 13th. Please note you do not have to stay both nights, but the availability should be there for those who choose to do so.

We were not able to secure any blocks of rooms for the weekend.

The primary hotel is the Holiday Inn Express-Abingdon (Rt 81, Exit 17).
