About this event
BMW CCA - Delaware Valley Chapter
Join us October 28th & 29th for our FIRST EVER PittRace HPDE on Pittsburgh International Race Complex's full 2.78 mile 19 turn course! We'll have two days of driving fun and education with the best classroom and in-car instructors in the business! No races are scheduled for this event, so all our students will get maximum track time!
PLEASE NOTE: We have several great opportunities for you, regardless of skill level! All options will span Saturday and Sunday and focus on giving you the best experience possible:
INTRODUCTION TO THE TRACK - $350 - Whether this is the first time you've ever turned a wheel on a race track, or the first time in many years, or the first time at a structured event like a BMW CCA HPDE, this option focuses on safety, getting you familiar with the procedures of being on the track, and being comfortable driving your car at speed in a controlled environent. This includes classroom instruction and personalized attention to answer all your questions and make this weekend one to remember!
EXPERIENCED HPDE - $450 - For those of you who have attended several organized HPDE events and have a good foundation of track safety, car control and awareness, but are looking to increase your knowledge and improve your driving skill, this is the option for you. This also includes classroom instruction and personalized instruction to give you all the knowledge you need to go safely faster while still having maximum fun!
OPEN TRACK TIME - $450 - Are you a student who has attended enough HPDE events that you are regularly driving solo in the advanced group? Are you an HPDE instructor? Do you have lots of on-track experience and play well with others? This option will give you longer sessions of open track time, passing anywhere with point-bys, and an opportunity to hone your skills and test your car in the safe, conrtolled environment of PittRace's almost 3-mile track. Longer sessions mean you have time to stop and take tire temps and adjust tire pressures, adjust suspension, etc. and get right back on track to see the results of your changes.
OPEN TRACK TIME DISCOUNT FOR INSTRUCTORS ONLY - $200 - If you'e a BMW CCA instructor and are willing to instruct at this event (one student at most) we would like to reward you with a $250 discount on this Open Track Time registration. You'll still get all the driving time you'd get with the full-price package (we're hoping for close to 3 hours per day, but the schedule has not been finalized) but might be called upon to instruct a student from one of the other groups.

HOTELS: There are many hotels in the area, but the PittRace staff has recommended the Microtel Inn & Suites in Beaver Falls. They have a special rate of $95/night if you mention PittRace when booking and have free cancellations with 36 hours advance notice. Their number is (724) 581-5273. There is also a special PittRace rate at the Hilton Garden Inn in Monaca but it varies depending on availabilty. Please call the Alicia at (724) 416-8703 for details and to make reservations. If we hear of any other hotel deals we will update this and email all registrants.
Please keep in mind that this is not a racing school but rather a high speed driving school, conducted on a race track under close supervision by experienced instructors. You will learn how to handle and control your vehicle at speeds not normally attained on public roads. This will help to prepare you for emergencies in normal driving. It will also allow you to explore your capabilities as a driver and those of your vehicle.
At no time will you be pushed or encouraged to go any faster than is comfortable for you. All participants will be organized into run groups in accordance with experience, skill, and type of vehicle. Participants not "signed off" will be required to drive with an instructor on board.
The Delaware Valley Chapter has developed a STUDENT HANDBOOK especially designed for the novice student. If you are a new Driver School Participant, we urge you to read this material to familiarize yourself with the program, safety issues and concerns and to obtain a better understanding of our events for your benefit and for the benefit of your fellow participants.
Pre-event tech inspection and registration for the prior evening will be announced and will also be at the track on Saturday morning (28th).
Cars with automatic braking and/ or lane drift correction systems will not be permitted to participate unless the systems can be fully turned off for the track sessions; proof that the systems can be turned off must be provided (i.e., information in Owner's Manual, etc.)
Be sure to visit the Chapter website, www.delvalbmwcca.org to read the Track Bulletins and Driver School event materials thoroughly.
