Cascade World HeadQuarters

About this event

See who is entered: Oregon Trailblazer Rally Entry List

Cascade Sports Car Club's Road Rally program (aka Cascade Geargrinders) offers time-speed-distance road rallies, lasting three to four hours, starting and ending in the Portland area. These events are open to everyone - club members and non-members, all types of vehicles. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Play the game that takes you places. Season Flyer

The Cascade Geargrinders Oregon Trailblazer Rally is a thought-provoking diversion on scenic country roads. This tricky TSD rally is designed to challenge driving and navigational skills. Expect tricks and traps.

The approximately 110-mile rally route is mostly paved, with some short gravel sections. This technically challenging rally includes a few TSD regularity legs. But the real fun is in the free zones where no speeds or pauses are specified. On and off course route controls record your progress. All teams get back on the same route at restart locations. Familiarity with main road rules will be helpful.

Not sure you’re up to a tricky rally? There’s no better way to learn than to jump in and swim. This rally is designed to get you back on course if you fall prey to a planned bit of trickery. All will be explained in the end.

$20 per car for CSCC members (either driver or navigator is a Cascade member)
$30 per car for non-members

Online registration is required. Day-of-event on-site registration is not available.

All communication about the rally occurs via email. Watch for emails and respond promptly.

After completing online registration by the November 15 midnight deadline, you will receive instructions to complete the virtual check-in on Thursday the 16th. You’ll need to register your assigned car number in the Competitor Richta app, e-sign the required event insurance waivers, and confirm your team’s registration information.

Each entry team must carry a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the most current version of the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. Instructions for downloading and using the Richta app will be provided as part of check-in.

All occupants of the vehicle registered for this event - driver, navigator, passengers - must e-sign the required event insurance waiver. The link to e-sign the waiver will be provided as part of check-in. For occupants under age 18, a parent or legal guardian must e-sign “on behalf of a minor”.

After you’ve completed these check-in steps, you’ll receive the route instructions on Friday. You will need to print them. Friday evening at 7 pm there will be a Zoom Q&A meeting. Take advantage of the Zoom meeting to ask questions.

On Saturday, leave the start by your assigned out time. Follow the route instructions to the end. Results will be announced and prizes awarded at the finish after all teams have completed the course. Complete rally results will be emailed Saturday evening.
