Our friends in the Chesapeake Region of the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club invite members of the Classic Car Club of America and the Greater Washington Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America to join their tour of the College Park Aviation Museum located at the College Park Airport. This is the "world’s oldest continuously operating airport," dating to 1909, and it was used by the Wright Brothers as their first military demonstration site. The museum has ten unique aircraft plus artifacts relating to the history of aviation, including a replica of the 1910 Wright Model B airplane. Come learn about several aviation “firsts” that happened here. Since the museum does not offer guided tours on Saturdays, we will tour at our own pace. For additional details, see their website, linked above.
Admission: $4 for visitors age 50+ and $5 for ages 15-49
We will convene for lunch afterward at the PrimeTime Restaurant nearby, which offers up to three hours of complimentary parking with validation in the garage behind the Cambria Hotel.
Each person will be responsible for the cost of their admission, parking, meals, and/or drinks.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, June 14!
