Cumberland Motor Club invites you to a shortest distance scavenger hunt on wheels. Starting in South Portland and finishing in Auburn you will visit some great historical sites, cemeteries, lakes, and even a playground for our younger passengers.

All competitors will receive a map of the area and a clue/question sheet. Using the clue sheet, it is up to your team to locate the places that you will need to visit to find the answers. These answers might be on a historical marker, a gravestone, a park bench, a memorial, or a building.

There is no specific route. The vehicle with the shortest distance traveled wins. While there is a time limit, there are no points given or deducted for getting there quicker. Please obey all traffic laws and speed limits. There are 5 hours from the end of the drivers meeting to arrive at the finish before penalties will be incurred. This should allow plenty of time for your team to take breaks at one of the many food, gas, and playground options along your way.

Participation is open to CMC members and non-members alike. Pre-registration is not required (but recommended for CMC members). Just arrive at the rally start point at the prescribed time to join in.

Cumberland Motor Club social points will be awarded to all CMC members who participate. Club members are encouraged to pre-register in MotorsportReg to ensure their social points are properly credited.

• Registration and check-in will be on Saturday, July 26th from 9:00 to 9:30 AM at Bug Light Park, South Portland, ME.
• After registering you will receive a set of instructions for an odometer factor route. You will need to complete this before the 9:45 drivers meeting.
• Following the drivers meeting, all teams will receive their packets containing the clues/instructions and a map of the area.
• You may take as much or as little time as your team needs to plan your route. You are free to leave at any point after the drivers meeting.
• Stop at the starting point to give your beginning odometer mileage.
• Arrive at Roy’s Allsteak Hamburgers in Auburn before 3pm. Any team arriving after this time will receive 1 point (equivalent to 1 mile) per minute late.
• Awards ceremony will start at 4pm
