About this event
The Christmas Lights Tour is a tour of some of the best Christmas displays in the Twin Cities suburbs. This year we're running in the West St. Paul, South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights and Eagan area.
The format will be the same as last year. You will follow a marked course on a map and answer questions at various lights displays. We've found some real great ones this year! The area is heavily lit overall, and there are a couple in particular that are just stunning. One owner revealed his light bill to us, and it is staggering!
This is a self-scoring event, so there are no awards. We’ll give you the answers at the endpoint so you can see how well you did.
The start point is the Central Square Community Center at 100 7th Ave N in South St. Paul. The best parking is on 7th St. Go in the northwest entrance. We're in a room just past the front desk. NOTE: THE START TIME HAS CHANGED!! The community center closes at an earlier time this year, so we have to move back the start one hour. Onsite checkin for pre-registered cars is from 5:45 to 6:30 PM and the first car will start at 6:00, with cars starting a minute apart after that, in the order they checked in. The room is small, so don't worry about being there for the start of checkin. We need to spread people out a little bit. Let us know if you need a start time later than 6:30.
The end point will be Old World Pizza at 5660 Bishop Ave, in case you want to leave a car or something. Great pizza and plenty of room for us. The first cars will arrive there around 8:30.
