Pocono Region PCA Fundraiser for the American Heart Association Information

It’s almost time to go play at Pocono racetrack! Saturday April 25th we will be running the pace laps at lunchtime and it’s your opportunity to drive your car on the track at highway speeds behind a pace car.  There is no passing, helmets are not required, and families are welcome.  We will be driving on the Southeast course that will give you a good mix of tight turns as well as open straights.

The event is a memorial for Ryan Martin, a Riesentöter member who has relatives in the Pocono region. This event is made possible by the kindness of Riesentöter region allowing Pocono region to partner up and use the track between sessions at lunchtime. (Thank you Catherine) The proceeds from the donations will be given to American Heart Association in Ryan’s honor, with Pocono and Riesentöter PCA as the fundraisers.

The minimum donation for the pace laps is $30.00 which will be collected at the time of registration via MotorSportreg.com. Donations and registrations will also be accepted at the event.  However, if you would like to give an additional donation or if you are unable to participate that day, but would like to make a donation towards the event, you may send a check written out to Pocono PCA and sent to Ed Slusarczyk at 46 Pebble Beach Dr Hazle Township PA 18202. In the past we have seen people and businesses donate much much more. Thank you to all those that donated in the past and those that participate this year. 

The event will be starting around 11:00 am and include coffee and refreshments. We will have a tent set up by the playground after you go through the tunnel where we will have check-in and refreshments. All are welcome. Feel free to invite friends and family.

The weekend has other opportunities for fun that may be of interest. Riesentöter (RTR) is running a high-performance driver education (HPDE) event Friday and Saturday (most fun) where students get four sessions each day with an instructor in your car. They also offer an “intro to DE” on Friday that will give you four sessions with an instructor with you in your car for only $149.00. (lots of fun) It’s a perfect way to drive your car in the style in which it was designed safely without fear of getting a “driving award” from law enforcement. They also offer a “track experience” where you can get a ride with an instructor driving a session in their car at track speed for only $25.00.  These events are also listed on Motorsportreg.com:
