About this event
Barber Museum Tour followed by Mountain Drive to Cheaha State Park
June 6, 2026 - Barber Museum Tour starts at 10 am
Join us for an insider's tour of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum lead by one of the experienced craftsman who assisted in the acquisition and restoration of a number of the cars. This tour will focus on the race car collection and will take about 2 hours. We'll limit the tour to 25 attendees so that all can hear and see well. The cost will be $21.55 per person ($20 plus MSR fees). The museum is located at the Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham Alabama.
After the tour, we'll have a mountain drive to Cheaha State Park, stopping for lunch beforehand at a convenient restaurant. Mount Cheaha, located at the Southern extent of the Appalachan Mountains, is the highest mountain in Alabama. Our drive leader, Jim Roberts, knows these roads well and will chose a winding, fun and picturesque route. Cheaha State Park is just south of Anniston/Oxford, and participants are encouraged to stay overnight in the Anniston/Oxford area in preparation for Sunday's and Monday's events.
Sunday, we have a tour of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville; for information and registration https://msreg.com/spaceandrocket
MBCA Performance Driving Academy at Talledega Gran Prix Raceway is on Monday June 8th; for information and to register: https://msreg.com/junmbcatgpr
