Hey Everyone! Our next event is scheduled on September 17th at Camp Landing Entertainment District.
This event will be a Charity Event to raise funds and supplies for the Hindman Settlement School in Hindman Kentucky. As many are aware, South Eastern Kentucky was devastated by record breaking rainfall late July. Between July 26th and July 30th 14"-16" of rainfall fell, the night of July 27th, alone, accounted for 8" of this total. This caused widespread flooding and displacing entire communities.
Hindman Settlement School is located ground zero of the disaster. They have been providing and distributing food, shelter, and aid to the surrounding communities since day one of the recovery effort. I have heard from people, personally affected by the flooding, that the Hindman School is doing tremendous work helping their community.
Fortunately, their current focus is shifting from one of recovery to rebuilding.
We ask you to bring the items requested below. We will collect items on the 17th, at the event, and make prompt arrangements to transport them to Hindman Settlement.
River Cities Region SCCA, has agreed to assume the cost of operating this charity event. All money raised, entry fees, and donations will be given directly to Hindman Settlement School to aid in rebuilding their community.
