           …on a private racetrack!
  • Learn in a supportive and enjoyable environment...
... with a strong emphasis on Safety!
  • Improve your driving skills...
... while learning about your car's capabilities!
  • Join a diverse group of friendly individuals who embrace performance driving...
... and really understand, appreciate, and enjoy their Audi automobiles!

What is It?

This High-Performance Driving School is an exciting, fun, and educational two or three days spent with friendly people at a terrific private racetrack. You will learn from and with other Audi owners and club members, forge new friendships, and make lasting memories. Your improved driving skills will enhance your daily driving experience. You will learn about your car and its capabilities in a controlled environment which is safer than experimenting on the public streets!

Should I Do It?

People will say   you shouldn't...    you couldn't...    you can't...    you won't...
So it will feel so good when you go home after experiencing the thrill of this weekend and tell them... I DID IT!

DO IT! with Audi Club SoCal

  • Drive your OWN car! You will learn in your own car throughout the event. Club instructors help you improve your driving skills in a structured learning environment.
  • Don’t have an Audi (yet)? -- No Problem! All makes and models of coupes and sedans in excellent mechanical condition are welcome at Audi Club SoCal driving schools – we also accept many convertibles and select performance SUVs, too.
  • We train you! At Audi Club SoCal, we don't just "drop you into the deep end"! Beginners will spend the morning of the first day learning about vehicle dynamics in the classroom and with car control exercises. Then you and your personal instructor will join the more experienced drivers on the track for the remainder of the weekend.
  • We focus on Education for all levels of experience. Audi Club driver education is tailored to each driver’s skill level using online webinars, live classroom, in-car instruction, and remote instruction where appropriate.
  • Safety is not negotiable! Separate run groups are established to allow students to be on track with drivers of similar experience. This event is not a race, a racing school, or practice for racing. Passing is allowed only under controlled conditions on designated straight sections of the course. Drivers with documented previous experience will be placed by us in a run group appropriate for their skill level and their car's capabilities.

Affordable: The registration fee (see below for details) represents an incredible bargain! Your full-weekend registration includes everything necessary for two days of fun with your car, including:

  • On-track driving with instruction by experienced and trained Audi Club instructors.
  • Lunch at the track both days, Friday Dinner, the Saturday Banquet, a souvenir Event Shirt, and an ACSC Hat.
  • First Time Beginners also get sophisticated online training, car control exercises, and a free motorsport helmet rental.
  • The optional Friday HPDE Advanced Driver Day's open pit lane format provides tons of practice time for Audi Club’s solo-qualified intermediate & advanced drivers and our instructors.

Event requirements

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Course Configuration - we are planning on the #13 Sweeper #1 Star Mazda configuration on all three days.
    • Friday Experienced Driver Day: Star Mazda Counter-Clockwise.
    • Saturday and Sunday Driving School: Star Mazda Clockwise.
  • Passing - To promote safety, passing in all run groups is by permission-only in designated straight passing zones. The Point-By passing protocol is used at Audi Club SoCal HPDE events.
  • Convertibles and SUV - We remind you that Audi Club North America allows many models of convertible cars and selected sporty SUV/CUV cars (for example Q3, Q5, SQ5) at our driving school. Yes there are a few restrictions, so see the details on the Audi Club website.
  • Friday Experienced Driver Day - Our Friday optional day with "Open Pit Lane" format is limited to previously soloed C-intermediates, D-advanced, and Instructors. Formal Audi Club driving instruction is not provided on Friday.
  • Not driving Friday? Show up early and you and your guest can get track familiarization rides with one of our instructors! You will need to be at the track Friday evening for check-in and mandatory driver meetings, so we encourage you to arrive early to observe the driving action on Friday.

REGISTRATION FEES

  • Student - $595. The student registration fee for the Saturday/Sunday Audi Club SoCal High Performance Driver School includes:
    • Training - on-track instruction with trained Audi Club instructors, driving theory classrooms, car control exercises for novices, feedback sessions, discounted professional online study materials. First-timers get a free helmet rental.

    • Swag - Every full weekend registration includes a souvenir event tee shirt and an ACSC Hat.
    • The Club will assign Student-Instructor pairings, which will be emailed to you the week of the event so you can begin a conversation with your instructor prior to arriving at the event.

  • Instructor - Special low promotional one-time weekend rate includes all meals and swag - see the registration form.
