Have you ever wondered what High Performance Drivers Education Events (HPDE) are really like? Is it racing? Can I use my daily driver? Do I need special tires? Will it hurt my car? Will I feel intimidated by the "track junkies"? What do I need to get started?

To help answer your questions the Alpine Mountain Region Porsche Club of America is hosting a “HPDE 101” session at Porsche Colorado Springs on March 7th from 9:00-11:00 AM. This is a free seminar. Come learn about how to participate in driving your car on a race track. You'll learn what our PCA High Performance Driver Education ("HPDE") program is all about and why you should consider joining in on the fun. Our HPDE program focuses on teaching you how to safely control your car on a racetrack. Although our HPDE's take place on a race track, the skills you'll learn transfer to the street and highway and just may help you avoid an accident or save your life. We will answer all your questions about taking your car out for a new adventure. You will learn about what to expect, how to prepare, and how to register, as well as a host of other relevant information.

This HPDE 101 introduction is just 6 weeks before our first 2020 AMR HPDE, which will be held at Pikes Peak International Raceway on April 18-19. We currently have four AMR HPDEs scheduled this year with the additional events being held at: Pueblo Motorsports Park on May 30-31 and September 5-6, and we close our season at La Junta Raceway on October 3-4. We plan on presenting an overview of HPDE 101 events then have several of our HPDE participants share their HPDE stories. As extra incentive we are offering a $50 credit towards HPDE registration costs to all "newbies" (first timers) who attend HPDE 101. All members are welcome. There is NO cost to participate in the HPDE 101 session. And we’ll provide coffee, juice, and light snacks. So, please join your Porsche friends (or come make some Porsche friends!) at Porsche Colorado Springs on March 7th!
