Event requirements
Solo Supps for Barber Proving Grounds:
1) Entry fee will be higher, similar to our last Solo event at TGPR. It will be the same $60 for everyone for just the autocross. No discounts for this first event. We'll revisit early setup and specialty discounts at a later time if this event is a success. We'll need to bring in over 100 entrants (3 run groups) and everyone already not an SCCA member will absolutely need to sign the (no obligation) Weekend Membership which is a small bit of paperwork but will bring our Insurance cost down.
2) The Barber Skidpad is included in the rental. (package deal) This will be a worker position and jackassery will be policed. Unlimited 5 lap runs will be a flat $20, or if you'd like to make it rain, $1 per 5 lap run. Given 3 run groups, there will be a heat where your run group is 'off' and you'll have an hour or so free to run there, get food, etc. The skidpad, we are told, will be wet. There is a particular low-friction coating to the asphalt that makes it slippery when wet. You are warned.
3) Early setup will be Friday evening. First car off at 9am Saturday. We were given the opportunity to setup the evening before our event and I can't find a compelling reason to not take advantage of it and get a bit of an earlier start to the race day.
4) Everyone who wants to run will have to be registered on Motorsportreg.com Go ahead and set up an account and enter in a card info. If you're not sure which SCCA Solo class your car belongs in, determining that can wait until later.
5) Everyone will need to pay online via Motorsportreg. Your payment option will not be charged until the event is over.
6) There will be a $20 no-show charge applied to your payment option if you register and do not show. Registration can be cancelled without penalty the Monday prior. Registration will close the Wednesday prior.
Items 4, 5, and 6 provide the best mitigation of risk to the club. We autocross in rain or shine.
