4th Annual Virginia/SCNA-SAAB Meet & Greet Event

Dominion Raceway

About this event

On Saturday, March 16, 2024(9:45 AM - 5:30 PM) we will be having our 4th Annual FREE Virginia/SCNA - SAAB Meet & Greet Event at Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, VA --- located just off of I-95, at exit 118.

We are inviting all SAAB; owners, enthusiasts, collectors, fans, friends and interested parties to join us this year.

This year's event will start with our time-honored SAAB Town Hall Meeting, which will take place inside the main Dominion Raceway facility from 10:00 AM - 12 Noon. The moderator for the SAAB Town Hall Event will be David Sprouse, Longtime SAAB owner and very active Central Penn SAAB Club Member.

SAABs are continuing to grab a lot of attention and accolades in various markets. Values have been steadily increasing and sales numbers have even broken records in some countries.

With all of the buzz currently around SAABs, this year's SAAB Town Hall topic will focus on how easy it is to update and modernize our SAABs. The newer model SAABs are currently quite a bargain.

The Following Guest will be a part of this year's SAAB Town Hall Panel;

  1. Steve Winfree has been the lead Master SAAB Tech for several years at our local Richmond, VA SAAB dealership. Now operating his own independent shop, knowledgeable in all models of SAABs, Steve is here to answer questions on repairs, fabrication and welding.
  2. Jim Hutchings has been a SAAB mechanic for 23+ years, specializing in Vintage SAABs, yet quite knowledgeable across the entire SAAB platform. Jim is the owner of Hutchings Autowerks & Performance in Wilmington, DE.
  3. JT Smith is a SCNA Committee Member, based in Pittsburg, PA. JT will discuss his new role with the SCNA and his experience with modding and tuning SAABs.
  4. Patrick Rivas is a longtime SAAB owner who takes meticulous care of his 2011 NG9-5 Aero --- which is one of the very rare Stateside examples that is almost fully optioned. Based in NOVA, Patrick has a wealth of knowledge on the NG9-5 Aero and he will share with us the joys of owning a NG9-5 model, how to update this model and the often overlooked tech in this 13 year old model that surprisingly still looks modern on today's roads.
  5. Philip Klene is a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Penn SAAB Club. Based in NOVA, Philip, along with his wife Amy own numerous award winning SAABs and have assisted several SAAB owners over the years. Having been a part of the SAAB community for numerous decades, Philip has also overseen many SAAB restoration projects, alongside Master SAAB Tech Al Huseman. Philip will talk to us about the SAAB restoration process.

We will have at least 2 SAAB Master Techs at the event, with Tech2s available for diagnosis/adjustments. If anyone needs to add a key/fob(highly recommended if you only have one key),please let us know ahead of time and we will get you scheduled/done.

We will have 1 professional paintless dent repair tech on-site to pull small dents for us and as always, the 2.0 mile, 12-turn technical road course will be open for touring laps($30) after lunch.

We encourage everyone to bring any SAAB parts that they are looking to sell or swap to this event for the SAAB Swap Meet. If you have specific SAAB parts you are looking for, let us know prior to the event day.
