About this event
2026 Track 101 High Performance Driver’s Education
Sunday, August 16, 2026
ABOUT THIS EVENT:
The Rocky Mountain Region Porsche Club of America (RMR-PCA) is excited to welcome you to our Track 101 High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) event on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Flatrock Regional Training Center in Commerce City, Colorado. This is our event especially designed for beginner track drivers!
Everyone is welcome! First-time drivers are especially encouraged. Every year, many of our participants at this event have never driven on a racetrack before. Whether this is your first track day or you already have experience, we'll place you in a run group that matches your skill level so you can learn, improve, and have fun in a safe, supportive environment. Drivers who need one will be matched with one of our amazing instructors.
The event is open to all makes of cars (see the Important Notice below). Convertibles must have factory-installed or other approved rollover protection, and SUVs must be German-manufactured. If you're unsure whether your vehicle qualifies, contact one of our Chief Driving Instructors (CDIs), who will be happy to help.
REGISTRATION:
Registration is now open and closes on August 6, 2026. Due to space limitations this event is capped at 60 drivers. It sells out every year, so we encourage you to register early to reserve your spot! Preference will be given to Porsche Club of America (PCA) members. Non-members are encouraged to register as well. The earlier you register, the better your chances of being able to attend. Registrations will be confirmed according to the date and time you registered, membership status, and instructor availability.
EVENT INFORMATION:
The registration fee is $115 per driver, which includes a full day of driving, professional instruction (if required), and lunch. This Event will be using Deferred Billing. If you are paying with a credit card, it will not be charged until August 14th, 2026. There are no food concessions at the track, so please bring any additional snacks or sports drinks you may want. Cold water will be provided. We also recommend bringing a folding chair, as seating is limited.
Lunch Charity Rides
During lunch, instructors will offer charity rides for a suggested $20 donation per car. All proceeds benefit the Adams County Sheriff's Office Employee Foundation.
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS & REMINDERS
Driver Attire and Other Requirements
Drivers must wear closed-toe shoes and all-cotton clothing is recommended. Shorts and short-sleeved shirts are allowed . An approved helmet is required (see helmet requirements below). All vehicles must pass a technical inspection before participating.
Driver Eligibility
You must be 18 or older with a valid driver's license to participate in this event. Your driver's license will be checked at event check-in.
Brake Fluid
Brake fluid must have been changed within one year of the event. Every year, several drivers are unable to participate because this requirement is overlooked. Please make sure your brake fluid is has been changed within the last year (and have proof of the work being done) before your tech inspection.
Helmet Requirements
Drivers must wear either a Snell SA2020/M2020 (or newer) or FIA 8859/8860-2024 certified helmet. SA2015, M2015, and FIA 8859-2015 helmets are no longer permitted. Please bring your helmet to your tech inspection for certification. A limited number of loaner helmets will be available at the track. If you plan to use a loaner helmet, we recommend bringing your own helmet liner (head sock).
Pop-Up Canopies
Please do not bring pop-up canopies, they are not permitted. Afternoon winds at Flatrock can become very strong and have launched canopies into people and parked vehicles, creating a serious safety hazard.
No Pets
Pets are not permitted at the Flatrock Regional Training Center. The facility can be extremely hot, and rattlesnakes are common in the area.
Passenger Seat Required for Beginner (Instructed) Drivers
Because all beginner drivers receive in-car instruction, every vehicle must have a passenger seat with an equivalent seat belt or restraint system.
Two (2) driver-shared cars will be placed in separate run groups appropriate for the event and the driver’s skill level.
The charity for the Track 101 DE is the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Employee Foundation. This Foundation supports various events throughout the community such as Operations Free Bird where we give out thousands of free thanksgiving meals to the community. The Foundation also supports Christmas Crusade, and other positive community events.
TECH INSPECTION:
All cars must pass a tech inspection within 120 days prior to the date of the event. If your car has been driven in an event since the date of your tech form, your tires and brakes may have worn enough that they may need attention prior to this event. Tires and brake pads should be checked by the attendee prior to the event regardless of when the car was last inspected.
Tech inspections are valid for 120 days from the date of the inspection. This reduces the number of times you need to have your car inspected during the season. There is a current inspection form available on the forms page of the RMR website (https://rmr.pca.org) under the Files and Forms heading. The form has more details about the tech-inspection process, including the exceptions to the 120-day period that the inspection is valid for.

This option should only be considered as a last resort and not for convenience. The challenge with the "morning of" option is there is little to no time to correct any issues if one pops up. It also cuts into the time you have available in the morning to complete the steps needed to prep your car for the track.
