2023 Spring Training HPDE

RMR/PCA High Performance Driver Education Event at High Plains Raceway

Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30, 2023

Join us for RMR’s first HPDE event of the year and typically one of the most well attended!

Dial in your Spring Training to sharpen skills, dial in tires, braking, and apex’s for your Porsche!  RMR provides a team of instructors & volunteers to train you and your Porsche around the best track Colorado has to offer.   Chris Macarak of On-Site Tires will provide his incredible Free Saturday night Brats ‘n’ Beer dinner featuring wonderful brats– who knows what Chris will cook up this year?  You’ll love On-Site’s personal and professional services at the track, business or home.  Give them a try! 

  • Lunchtime charity rides will be held for $20 per vehicle - Any roadworthy vehicle can drive the track at touring/highway speeds.  All proceeds benefit our charity for the event. 
  • Lunches for volunteers and instructors will be provided.

There will be beer-30 on both Saturday and Sunday, and the club provides water during the day to help keep you hydrated.   

We are excited to support our charity for this event:  Lung Cancer Colorado Fund- CU Anschutz targeting genetic pill therapies for loved ones!   You can donate as much as you would like during registration.

As of this time there are no COVID-19 related restrictions in place that will impact this event. That may change, we will update you if it does.

This Event will be using Deferred Billing, your credit card will not be charged until Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

Dates: Gates open by 6:30 am Friday April 28, before the event and remain open 24hrs/day until after the event ends on Sunday (the paddock is closed Sunday night).  HPR offers open lapping all day Friday. You can register for this on MotorsportReg.com.  This open lapping days are a separate charge from the HPDE event.

Check-in: 7:00 AM -- 7:55 AM Saturday and Sunday Please check-in before the mandatory 8:00 AM drivers' meeting. 

Drivers’ meeting:  Starts at 8:00 AM (each day) in the Pavilion. Green run group drivers' meeting following the all drivers' meeting, (each day) in the Classroom.

Location:   High Plains Raceway, 17 miles east of Byers on US-36 (Deer Trail)

Event requirements

National PCA membership number and membership status will be verified as part of the registration process.  If you do not include a valid PCA membership number (or forward a pending membership confirmation from PCA to the registrar), a $10 non-member fee will be assessed.

You must be 18 or older with a valid driver's license to participate in this event.

You are required to use a Snell-certified SA2015 or M2015 or newer helmet.  You will need to wear clothing made of natural fibers such as 100% cotton. Short-sleeve shirts and shorts are now allowed. Closed toe shoes are required while driving. Helmets will be checked at Pre-Tech or Tech at the Track where you may obtain an RMR/PCA helmet sticker confirming th Snell rating. A limited number of loaner helmets and HANS devices are available.

No convertibles or open cars without roll bars, trucks, or non-Porsche SUVs.

NEW PCA RULE:  If you have added a racing-type seat in order to use 5-point, 6-point or 7-point harnesses (which must be replaced every two years or every five years depending on whether they are SFI certified or FIA certified belts, respectively), you must also have and use an approved Head and Neck Restraint device.  Further, if there is to be a passenger (e.g. instructor), same must be provided and used by the right-seater.

We cannot accommodate two (2) driver cars if both drivers are novice drivers and attending their first DE event.  Also, three (3) driver cars are not allowed.

Attendance at RMR DEs at HPR will be limited to a total of 135 drivers per day, including up to 30 Novice and Beginner drivers depending on the number of Instructors registered.  To implement this, everyone registering for the DE will be listed as ON HOLD, subject to CONFIRMATION BY THE CDIs.

Your priority in being confirmed for an event will depend on the date and time you register.  When an event fills up, further priority will be given to PCA members.
