2023 Driver Development Camp May 27-28 (Registration closes May 21 at 6:00pm)

The CKRC is excited to announce this year’s edition of the Driver Development Camp on Saturday May 27th and Sunday May 28. It is designed for both newer drivers looking to get race-ready, and for intermediate drivers looking to take their skills to the next level. There will be a combination of classroom sessions and on-track drills. We have 5 of the top CKRC drivers coaching the camp this year: James Altamirano, Mark Newson, Jack Mazury, Paul Galecki and Aidan Carruthers. Here are some of the topics we plan to cover:

- Track walk
- Threshold Braking
- Racing lines
- Vision Passing
- Starts
- Learning to coach
- Race Day Tips
Please note the following rules/restrictions: One parent or mechanic/chaperone is required for drivers under 18 Limited to 20 drivers. This camp is available to all non-shifter drivers in any class. For rookie drivers, ensure you have completed a minimum of 100 practice laps prior to the camp. Food/drinks are not supplied by the camp. Camp will run rain or shine – come prepared for the weather. Entry fee is $250 per driver for the 2 days. Camp hours approximately: Saturday and Sunday 8:00AM – 6:30PM. Please bring all equipment in safe working order, we will do a tech assessment on Saturday and can sort small issues if needed.
Please bring:
- Kart
- Safety equipment (Helmet, Gloves, Fire Suit, Rib Vest, Shoes)
- Tools for maintenance
- Fuel
- A parent or guardian (Drivers 17 or under)
Bonus but not required:
- Mychron 4 or 5
- Windows laptop with both Race studio 2 and race studio 3 (Mychron 5)
- Track map
- Rain gear (We are running Rain or Shine)
